To me, this song is all about getting fed up with someone, whether it be friend or foe, that you've put up with for just too long. We all have our breaking point. It seems that this person has finally come to theirs after too long a period of being taken advantage of by those he tolerates. This person sees through the viscade put on by those to hide their true selves, yet tolerates it for any number of reasons. Possibly because s/he is partly to blame, "Our guilt, our blame, I've been far too sympathetic. Our blood, our fault. I've been far too sympathetic." By coming to the decision to no longer tolerate this person, he feels releaved of the of the pressures of keeping it secret, and comes to terms with his own faults, "I will no longer tolerate you. Even if I must go down beside you. Because, no one is innocent."
