is there anyone who thought the 46 and 2 ish section didn't stand out at first

Yes it REMINDS me of 46&2, but a lot of Tool songs remind me of another. It has elements, but it really is very different.

This happened to me the first few times I listened to the 10,000 days.. But mostly with Rosetta Stoned. I think that I can find a guitar riff/bass riff/drum section/rythmic timing in that song that's similar to every other tool song almost....

But I don't think of the songs like that anymore, they've definitely grown into their own for me and I don't even hear the old stuff in them anymore. I don't know what to say, other than listen again.. and again... and again..

Totally 46&2, but that makes complete sense when you consider the whole "evolutionary" angle to both songs, and all the other self-referential riffs on the album.

It is similar to 46&2 (based in 8th notes around the same spot in the scale), but it's way different. I can hear how people say it's similar, but I still think it's no where close.
