Ok, one part of this song had me scratching my head thinking... "what the heck is he saying here" as many a song do...

Not a single site had something rational and comprehensible.

The section:

[Mixing love / Benched along] with patience and reason.

I listened to this verse over and over... and I think I finally got it!!! It makes sense, and fits!
