to get there you take U6 underground to station called "Burggasse/Stadthalle"
then you must head for the exit that says "Burggasse". the venue is a few minutes away from there.

ich hab früher ziemlich probleme mit menschenmassen gehabt. jetzt ist es eh besser. bei queens of the stoneage am novarock wars schon etwas nervig dass einem alle 5 min jemand auf den kopf gefallen ist :) ich denke aber, dass dies bei tool nicht so sein wird, da sich toolfans doch sehr von anderen fangruppierungen unterscheiden. wenn ich sitzplatz höre denk ich , naiv wie ich bin, sofort an einen chilligen couchsessel ca 5 meter von der bühne entfernt :) aber es is ja stadthalle. unangenehme sitze und x meter entfernt von der bühne. ich mag alles aufsaugen was dort an atmosphäre sein wird. fotografieren wär echt ein hammer. das setting wird von den visuals her sicher mächtig werden! ist schon november?

Ja, da hast du schon recht. Das mit den Menschenmassen kann desöfteren sehr lästig werden.
Ich bin mir sicher, daß du, wenn du Novarock warst, auch Tool gesehen hast. Scheisse, ich hab mir da leider ein Eck ausgesucht, bei dem die Crowdsurfer ein wenig inflationär vertreten waren. Schmerzen en masse.
Aber was solls: Rock muss manchmal wehtun.

The tickets for the seats are only for the place "13" left.

Ich hab vor das ganze zu filmen, wie schwer ist es denn da einen Camcorder mitreinzunehmen? Ansonsten wäre da noch die Frage, ob jemand schon den gleichen Gedanken hat wie ich und wenn ja, würde er es dann später online stellen?
Vielleicht kann man sich im vorhinein schon absprechen.

Thanks, that helps. (...one more thing: my ticket is a Nord stehplatz. So it refers to the right part of the standing section? is is divided by sth? (is there someone, who has been there, and knows it?))

@sajana: It is your own decision if you like it or not, but if you can't stand for 2h then it would be better to take the seat tickets. Yes, the seats are above the standings, but it is more far away as you think. The Wiener Stadthalle is 98m long, 10m of them is for the band and I think it is ca. 50-60m long to the seats. That's why these tickets are cheaper as the standing one's.

@fugitive: I don't know if they will part it in the middle, but that would be ridiculous. To be honestly I think they won't control it if you are in the crowd. I've been travelling since I'm 14 to Vienna and I know the city very good, but I've never been in the Stadthalle, so I can't tell you the updated and correct information about that.

By the way: Your concert ticket is also your ticket for using the public transports in Vienna. So don't loose your ticket after the show!

Hmm that's difficult. If you have a credit card you could buy one over the telephone or via the e-mail. But it's better if you go directly to the shop at the Stadthalle and get one. Maybe you have a friend in Vienna, who is doing that for you ^^

Soweit ich weiß wird das eher schwer sein. Ähnlich harsche Kontrollen wie bei einem Großfestival halt. Camcorder zwischen den Arschbacken einklemmen? Ich weiß, klingt dämlich, aber so hat's ein Freund von mir beim Novarock gemacht. Naja, war nur eine DigitalKamera...

I just found out I will be heading out to Luxembourg for work next week..., so I am thinking about hitting up the germany and austria show while out there.

Any recomendations for locales to stay near to make it easy to travel to and from my hotel?

Also any recomendations on things to do besides the show.., i will probably spend and extra day or two after the show before heading back to the states.

Ma totalno je bilo OK, u biti sam Mastodon sjedio a Toolchinu sam odslusao uglavnom na stojecki kao pravi decki :) Neka madjarica je bila gostoljubiva pa smo pljugali i plesali na samom kraju dvorane i visualsi su bili prejebeni...

Zadnjih dvajst minuta koncerta sam sjedio u prostoru izmedju sjedala dok je madjarica lezala i povracala, al bilo zakon :)

hm, čini mi se da ste vi sjedeći imali presumper pogled na dvoranu i lasere, mi jadni istegnuli vratove bome :D
ako si šta slikala ili snimala daj ;), ja sam bila uspjela prošvercat mob s kamerom bez beda al nisam ga htjela vadit jer su security bili strava, išli su s lampicama po publici i uzimali mobitele, a neke i izbacili van! to je malo sjebalo doživljaj al štaš, aside from that je bilo divvvno!

maybe some of you would find this funny,as it was for us who lived it..me and my friends went to vienna with two vans which were to high to park them it the stadthalle garage..so we went driving around stadthalle looking for a parking place..and then we saw a sign "private parking"..we stopped and asked a kind old gentleman were we could park..he was very friendly and showed us way into the private parking lot..we were a bit confused how we managed to park on a private backstage parking lot,but as long as we had a parking space it didn't matter..later on did we find out that the old gentleman actually thought that we were tool security!!of course we had to move the vans,but it was just hilarious how he was convinced that we were actually tool security...not even the croatian plates made him think otherwise..

They took my Canon EOS 300D (I don't know the english word for Digitalspiegelreflexkamera) at the entrance, altough I've put the camera in my boxershorts. I know it sounds weird, but somehow they recognized it... f*ckers

Anyway, I've found the the same torrent on demonoid, but it is only an external of dimeadozen and they don't allow external linking :(
