So i was watching television a few minutes ago, and LO and behold, the genie on Pewees Playhouse is Named Jambi.

Coincidence? Maynards sly sense of humor poking through? i think the latter.

And since im posting i might as well voice my opinion about the song.

I derive most of my interpretation from the first verse, and how it pretty much sets the voice for the rest of the song, lyrically speaking.

hear from the kings mountain view, head from the wild dream come true, feast like a sultan i do, on treasures and flesh never few.

So here we have it. He hears, he thinks, he consumes, feels, whatever. but he would wish it all away, and damn his eyes, if they would compromise a fulcrum, and want and need would divide him, and he wouldnt be able to see the light.
Whats the light? The same light hes referring to in Jimmy, in 10 thousand days, and others.

when does he say he wouldn't be able to see the light? i don't recall that line. oh and good observation of Jambi. God i want to know the meaning of it so bad. It's not in the dictionary. if it's not from pewee's playhouse, then we now know that it's a name! a name! but i thought of it as an adjective...because he says "Jambi eyes." i don't get it. when are the fucking lyrics gonna come out, this is torture.

Well im inferring from the first verse that hes referring to the senses, he "hears from the kings mountain view" his heads from the "wild dream come true", the last line talkinga bout feasting makes me think of the mouth, i dont know, it seemed kind of obvious when it came to me, im having trouble relating it.
"lost behind the words id never find" heh..
Hes kind of singling out his eyes stating "damn my eyes" and im inferring from if want and need divide me " we covet what we see dont we?
Most of my interpretation is from personal experiance, im constantly finding amusing patterns in the way i think and watching other people act the same way. hmmm..

o and the guy up there cutting and pasting lyrics, the one lines "divided, whithering away." . if youre divided, youre whithering. if you can see the light youre on youre way to being whole. eleven if you will. heh. anyway.

The song is spoken "Jum-bee", not "Jim-bye"

Well, I made as many corrections on there as possible. Everything in there should be accurate expect for the words in brackets and of course the ever disputed dim, damn, jam, jambi, etc portion

It looks like you axed the "Divide and wither away x2" that sounds right to me, it makes sense too.

You might want to listen in to that....
