Now imagine you listen to a Tool song with headphones, you would hear something extraordinary and wanted to point it out. You would suddenly notice OMG THESE OVERANALYZERS ARE JUST HUMANS TOO!! You post it and then almost every single post comes off as spam and even attacking you.

What overanalyzation is, is making a concept album out of every album, for example. Yet still, this is an opinion forum.

It just makes me laugh every time I hear it. But what makes me laugh harder, is that somebody once suggested that they intentionally added the "Timmy" in order to imply that all the "fighting" (over this and that and the other thing) is retarded. I think it was an actual suggestion and not a joke- but it made me laugh.

After isolating and analyzing this section of the song for 96 hours straight, I've come to the conclusion that it does not say Timmy. Instead in that brief 1 second of sound that could easily be mistaken as sound from a guitar is in fact the entire Bush Administration's Iraq war plan. If you really focus on it intensly, you'll hear "Grrrrrrrrr fuck!"

Heheh, definitely sounds like Timmy, and I can't help but hear Timmy every time now. But it's not, you hear Adam run the edge of his plectrum down the string, and the 'Timmy' bit is the end of it, quickly drawing the pick down the string, with a flick at the end to make the string then ring out.

Unfair to call this overanalysing though, nobodys analysing anything, it just sounds abit like TIMMAY!

And I thought MY mind was warped beyond salvation.

All of a sudden I feel, like so sane and sober. I'm in the college library and was trying not to disturb my fellow students with my laughter. I actually started crying I laughed so hard!

I am definitely going to be listening for my favorite retarded kid on a wheelchair when I get home tonight. I hoping this is not some type of hypnotic suggestion. I would be very disappointed if this were someone's big joke and really actually listened for the sound of Timmy. I mean people hear voices all the time. Just because an entity claims to be who he says does not necessarely mean it's actually him.
How many people have claimed that God spoke to them directly or the Devil, even? Maybe a percentage of the claims are true, but most of them I'll bet are unfortunate cases of identity theft. Or wishful thinking.
But this is TOOL. Anything is possible.

I listened. Thanks to reading this insane thread my mind kept annoyingly injecting "Timmay" into every part of the song. I forgot what part I was supposed to hear it at so thoroughout the entire song I just kept imagining I was hearing him. But then came THE part. I wasn't on any mindwarping substances at the time so to me it sounded like (possibly) Timmy in a sewer tunnel riding by at considerable velocity screaming through a megaphone. The thing that makes me question the authenticity of the "voice" is that -- how the fuck does a crippled retarded kid get into a sewer drain in the first place, and secondly how can we be certain it was THE Timmy, himself and not a secret vocal-twin who only SOUNDS like Timmy?

Holy crud! I heard it! Tool once did this little show before one of their concerts back in the day of Lateralus. They had a comedian come on stage who said his name was Timmy and that he had a disease that made him look old but he was actually like 8. He then said his dying wish was to see Tool and they ran out and played The Grudge. Any connection here?
