Maynard, lisp?

In the very beginning of this song Maynard says, "Used to be a bunch of assholes that lived in this part of the building here. But we systematically removed them like you would any termite or roach." I didn't notice this the first few listens, but I recently realized that a clear lisp can be heard when this is said as well as in the rest of the song in Maynard's voice. I was wondering if any one else noticed this...just something that kind of interested me.

did you listen to the recording yourself? if it's bad sound quality, it depicts the sound of a lisp surprisingly accurately. i don't think that is the cause.

Yeah I listened to it. I see what you mean, at first I thought it was a lisp. But it's just a fuzzy sound that it makes when he says "S" into the microphone.

I agree I've heard countless interviews and monologues on stage, etc. and I've never heard anything to indicate Maynard has a speech impediment.

That said, there are two different spots on the 10,000 Days album where I'm pretty certain I hear a lisp. That has always thrown me off. Anyone else hear one anywhere on the album?
