While Aenima and Lateralus are both great in their own ways, this album is concise and interesting at all points. Maynard's voice takes on a slightly different tone, and Paul's bass carries a different feel than Justin's. Undertow also has the feel of having more "real" songs than any of the other albums, and each is unique.
Just some thoughts. I pretty much refuse to give 5s to albums, because that means complete perfection, but I think that Undertow deserves a 4.8 at least. Agree? Disagree?
Also, wanted to add that every track on Undertow stands on its own, but as an album, it also flows very nicely.
