Sometimes it would be nice to have Tool (and some other bands) with all the vocal tracks cut out. It would bring forward some hidden recording tracks that you'd normally wouldn't catch...

... Like the screech of the guitar during the "solo" in The Patient at around... four or something minutes.

... Listen for it, the high pitched thingy that hits on the same note as a harmony ...

Almost any decent software package will have a plugin or filter that can strip out most of the vocals.

You'll lose some guitar frequencies and maybe some drum work, but not much.
