Is there anyone that doesn't like the song? It seems like everyone agrees that the album isn't one of the best, but this song is amazing.

best part of this song (like most on 10,000 days) is when maynard isnt singing.

Best part of the song is everything after the talkbox guitar solo.

I have no problem with the album, but I'd say Jambi is the song I listen to the least. I love the Talk box solo, and the lyrics are great, but that song never really clicked with me.

the intro was great live.

"shed without a reson" is a great line (musically)

i think youre thinking of the pot.

the repetitive guitar bothered me at first but this song is definately one of my favs now. as someone else noted, the solo and on is gold.

It's one of my favorites! Did you read the lyrics?

I am a drummer... and I find the technicallity of the beat to be fascinating. Its very choppy... and, hypnotizing.

that's what a 9/8 time signature will do to a beat.

Yes... I know buddy.

I am just going to pay a little more attention to you becuase you came to the table with fact. Thats warrants my attention. CONGRATS!

I didn't mean to appear that I was disagreeing.

The 9/8 really makes me bob my head!

The song has a weak beginning imo...but the last few minutes of the song are killer.

i think the entire album is incredible
and i think it's difficult to compare tools albums to each other only because they are all so different from each other
every album sounds different but is still distinctively tool
that is what makes this band great

jambi and i are good friends

Jambi is okay. Its kinda boring up untill about the end where it gets awesome. That's just my opinion though.

This belongs on the 10,000 Days forum... along with all of the dull-witted simpletons that frequent it.

That said, I think Jambi is a great song, and 10,000 Days is a great album.

clarity.

i really don't like the song

it seems really low on the tool quality scale, just like most of 10,000 days

That's super harsh. This song is masterpiece of contrasting rhythms that unify and divide one another throughout. Don't get me wrong- I love the lyrics and Maynard's delivery- but I think I could listen to this track without the vocals and just groove on the instrumentals. They're that tight.

Far from horrible in any aspect, this song ranks among my top five in Tool's history.

The main riff is lame. A 12 year old inspired by a generation of nu metal could create a better riff.

Starting at 0:24 maynard sings over the bass with a melody that completely shatters the mood that the riff was trying to create.

At 0:44 maynard does another terrible melody, coupled with pathetic lyrics. "IF I COULD LOSE YOU ONE MORE DAY" or whatever.

Justin plays the same two notes for another minute.

Chorus is more than lame. "IF I COULD WISH IT ALL AWAY" "IF I COULD"

Song starts to pick up at 3:55, sounding like it could take a turn for the better, but then that afwul talk box guitar comes in and just pushes the song over the edge. Any hope it had of even being a decent song is long gone. It's a song of mixed moods and none of them match up, making this song a giant mess of suck.

The bridge is the only good part, the "shine on" part.

for good reason, too

(er... the NOT-mocking-Jambi part, I'm definitely not advocating knocking the rest of the album... gold to me)
