Whoa, where'd this come from?! Ticketmaster hasn't shown this listing yet. Just one month after the Fresno show, I will be going! Unless they are about to release more dates at venues closer to me. I will go to all Northern CA shows. How far is Bakersfield from Fresno?

Thanks for the update. Has anyone seen a show at this place? Think it will be general admission like Fresno?

Does anybody know if this is still part of the "Warm-Up" tour or is it the big tour at this point?

I've seen a few shows there. The floor will most likely be general admission - standing room only. Oddly enough, I saw Tool in Fresno a few years ago and there was assigned seating. Also, the security there is like nazi, germany (in Fresno, not Bakersfield) I've never seen so many people thrown out simply for having a good time. That was almost 4 years ago so it could be differrent now.

Hopefully I can go to this one too.
I got a ticket for Fresno.
Me so happy.

I'd get to take a day off class for that one.

I'm not sure I understand your problem. If the show is posted here then it's definitely happening. They just haven't put tickets for it on sale yet.

You should consider the SD Street Scene too. That's not that long of a drive from Long Beach.

I saw them play here in 2002 with Tomahawk, someone got it right a few posts back. Floor is general admission, but anyone can walk down. Security is pretty relaxed. So come down, bring your bud, have fun. :]

This should be a fairly easy show to get tickets for because it's in Bakersfield. Bakersfield is small and not exactly known for being a place to go for entertainment, much less a Tool concert. I noticed actually that both Yellowcard and Rob Zombie cancelled their dates at Rabobank, probably due to poor sales. It's about an hour and fifteen minutes in good traffic from LA to Bakersfield, but if LA people don't go then it's not gonna sell. Probably be ok for Tool though cause they have a huge following.

Just to give you a measure. I went to buy tickets and was 3rd in line. The 2 kids in front of me were buying AFI tickets, little bastards made it so i couldn't get any seats. All they had left with 3-5 minutes was General Admission seats.

There has to be a catch - I'm not going to this show, but out of curiousity I tried looking for tickets and was able to get floor seats consistently, even an hour after the tickets went on sale. What's up with this?

Does anyone know what exactly GA is? Is the entire floor area general admission with no seats????

Thanks

Because the floor is general admission, those tickets have the least value to scalpers unless the show sells out. I went to see APC a couple of years back and all the seats in the arena were sold out the first week but you could still get a floor ticket as little as a week before the show. Personally, I am planning on standing no matter where I am so a seat seems like a waste.

Yes.

that and do you know how many people have to be on an arena floor for it to be filled to capacity? There's a LOT of tickets. I'm hoping my friend can still get one when he gets back to town cause i didn't have the money for two....but there's the one...hanging under a push pin on my wall...first Tool show....ohhhh man am i excited.

I bought tickets for this as soon as they went on sale. GA, third row. I live in a small mountain town about an hour away from bakersfield.

This is my first live Tool experience, and, needless to say, I'm excited.

Oh shit, I think I'ma piss my pants.

Oh yeah, and hello, everyone.

Sorry to burst your bubble but you are not in the 3rd row. Maybe in the lower level but not the GA floor.

Whatever. I'm seeing Tool. For the first time. It doesn't matter.

So, I know I'm new and everything, but my significant other and I will probably be getting a hotel room for that night. Anyone want to organize something for afterwards? Indulge in some fine smokeables?

I'm fucking 6'5", so it shouldn't be difficult to spot me. Heh.

It doesn't sond like you know Bakersfield too well?.. Actually I have been able to experience a couple of Tool shows there in the past, and they were both excellent! The first was in a small (fox) theatre (similar to the paramount in Oakland) in 1995. They had just returned from Europe where Aenima was released (prior to its U.S. debut.) At this show the crowd was intimate and very responsive. Tool was still fairly new and their performance was pretty striaght forward. Their stage set up was very similar to what you se today, in regards to bandmate positioning. MJK wore black Doc Martins, was shirtless and wearing Levi"s (no make up in the mix yet) and he was well lit so you could really see his ink. I remember him telling us a couple of things after opening with stinkfist (the first time I had ever heard that song). He introduced Justin as this was the first tour in the US with him on bass, then went on to say that they had been playing and traveling around the world while gathering film segments of different cultures. These images were played on two projection screens, along with there videos up to this point, as the band introduced the songs of Aenima to a greatful crowd encoring with Opiate. If you can believe it MJK was acting fairly humble as he invited the crowd to stay past the single (sober) to witness all the new songs and film they had to give to us. This was truely one of, if not the best Tool show I have ever seen.

The other Bkfld show was part of the Lateralus tours. There performance was awsome and Mjk was blue. Two standout songs were Porabula-parabola and The patient. I think that the next Bkfld experince will not dissapoint. By the way, Rob Zombie opened for Korn a few years back in Bkfld and the place was jammed, of course Korn is from there.

Look foreward to seeing you all on the 5th! I have good seats in section 111 seat # 11. hmmm? Coincidence--Maybe ; ) Peace out.

Time to get this thread resurrected! Since I've never been to Rabobank, what time do some of you locals think would be a good time to show up? I've got tickets for GA (kinda wish I had a reserved seat now if anyone wants to trade), and I would like to see Isis. Just don't want to get caught in some Godforesaken line waiting to get in while the band is playing.
