Can't wait for this one. Last time they were through I had floor tickets and it was unbelievable. A left hander came around what seemed like every song and we were about 15 feet from the stage and everyone was just kinda groovin in their own spot.

Hopefully Isis will open.

Is it really seated on the floor? I have seen Tool 3 times and every time I've never gotten to see them as I've wanted. I am always in crappy seats, or at Lollapalooza in 97 they had seats in Toronto and it was (almost ;) a waste of time - either people throwing seats or standing on them, whatever. I don't want the Calgary and Edmonton shows to be the same as I've gotten floor tix and really want to be able to enjoy them as they should be enjoyed from the floor - NO SEATS.

I'm also quite curious, are the floor seats general or is there seats? Am I wasting money getting tix closer to the stage on ebay?

Before the tickets went on sale for Edmonton (guessing the same for Calgary), it was listed as general admission, no seating on the floor.

When I bought them today, they were row 24, seats 1 and 2. I'm hoping it's general admission as well. :(

I'm pretty sure that its standing on the floor, I think the row and seat numbers are just ways of organizing the tickets. Weird enough, chili peppers tickets also have a row and seat number and they were auctioning them off on ticketmaster based on the higher to the bid the "closer to the stage" in terms of rows, so who knows, probably just a scheme to get people to bid higher... seats on the floor are usually only for shows like elton john or fleetwood mac anyways...

I just bought tickets in row 13 and was wondering the same thing. I called the venue and they said there are actual seats and rows, not GA.

Hey just wondering if anyone has heard anything about a possible opening band?

I just checked my floor seats and they say row 43, and that's not even on the seating chart so.....

I can't get a straight answer from anywhere or anyone about this seating situation. I've heard conflicting things everywhere. Who wants to go pay some scalper from Portland or whatever 400 bucks if we're all in the same boat, anyways??

I'm slowly leaning towards agreeing with Ranjit that the rows are just a convenient way of keeping tabs on general seats. But, who the hell knows??

Floor tickets are almost certainly seats; I believe every show at the Saddledome is such these days. I don't think they do shows at big arenas without having seats on the floor anymore.

I'm row 38, and that seems crappy based on that seating chart, but if you have 43 and that's not even ON the chart, the chart could be off.

I just contacted the saddledome again and another manager there confirmed that they are seats and that the number of rows depends on the concert and thats why the chart may be off a little. He said there can be as many as 60 rows and each row, except for the first 4 have 44 seats. I hope this helps. If you want the number to the saddledome is: 14037774636 x1

Arrrg. Last time they were here, it was G/A, and it was amazing. Last summer I saw Foo Fighters, NIN and System of a Down, all G/A. As a matter of fact, SOAD is here tonight and the floor is G/A.
I'm even sadder that I was unable to get any decent tickets for the show, and now will have to wait and see if I can even go...

These posts have been really depressing, lol, im really really hoping the managers at the saddledome are just saying that becuase that is the only information they have available, seats on the floor would be lame and then you can't get close to the stage, meh i guess well just have to wait and see.

Well, let's all just face it, the floor will be seated. And if, by some small chance, it IS general admission then a whole lotta folks just got screwed by buying first row, dead center blah blah blah

It's a shame that it will be a seated concert but hey...tool is tool!!

Well originally I was going to go to this concert with some friends, but now they can't make it. I've never been to a concert before so I don't really know what to expect. I don't think anyone else will be able to go, and I don't know if I should bother going by myself or if it will just be really akward and stupid. Ideas?

Go - you will regret it if you don't.

I've been to a concert alone before, I ended up meeting a friend, but just remember that you have something in common with everyone else there - you dig tool. It's easy to meet new people. "So...have you seen them before?" - and conversation goes off on its own.

Jurkel

I'd say go, too. Once the music starts you won't even care, anyways. I even have a single floor ticket, row 32, that I would part with for face value ($82.50)

Just because it's you.

If you want the ticket, leave me some contact info and we can arrange something(I live in Calgary)

Shit. My seat sounds like it sucks...I'm floor, row 38, seat 41. Oh well. At least I'm in the building.

Me and my buddy will be up from the states. He just turned 18 and will experince international culture for the first time. The thing is we have some time to kill before the show starts and I need some local help in finding some good spots around calgary. Any help would be apreciated.

PenGrowth Saddledome, Calgary Alberta - 8/24/06

I have two side by side tickets to see Isis and Tool on August 24 in calgary. They are reserved floor seats in row 13. Only 13 rows from one of the greatest bands of all time. The tickets are actual hard tickets and they are in hand ready to ship asap. Email if your interested. I usually check my email atleast 3 times a day.

Check out 17th avenue before the show. It is fairly close to the Saddledome and there are a lot of pubs to go boozing at. Ship and Anchor and Morgans are pretty cool places. If you are staying the night a bar called "The Back Alley" is the only place I can think of that would play Tool after the show.

Definitely! Some people don't like the singer's "death metal" growl (even though it fits the music perfectly) but don't get too caught up on that. The music is heavy, intricate, not necessarily fast and technically sound. Check out their 'Oceanic' CD before hand if you get a chance, it's a good representation of what to expect.

You guys are going to LOVE IT.

I just saw them in Vancouver last night. TOOL is in SUCH a good fucking mood, they love being in Canada. Maynard said "See you in Calgary tomorrow night!".

Trust me, the seats will ALL be good enough, and yes the floor will be seated, but its good. You can concentrate 100% on Tool without people moshing into you. True, you can't get as close as you want, but really it won't matter. It will be amazing.

Reading the Vancouver reviews has made me that much more excited. I have tickets at the sidestage, hopefully the screen views won't be blocked...at the very least I'll have a great view of the band.
