Does anyone else hear a SUPER fast roll on a single drum @ 10:03-10:04? I know Danny is amazing and does stuff that blows my mind, but this literally sounds like a machine it's so fast and measured.

I never noticed it before listening to headphones - indeed now listening to it without headphones is hard to hear even though I know to listen for it.

So... does that mean you hear that particular drum roll? I only ask because anyone I've let hear it doesn't hear it... and I only hear it when listening on headphones...

Not a problem... someone has had to have heard that before now... I'm hoping. I'd be tickled though if I thought I was the first to hear it and actually make mention of it.

no being tickled for you, i've heard it. didn't know it needed mentioning... btw, "has had to have heard" - awesome.

Okay good, I'd rather not be tickled and know that many people have heard it.

Sorry mate, ive heard it before...

Sounds like a six stroke roll to me, played as sixteenth notes...with the accents on the triplet - executed perfectly in true Danny form.

No no, good, I'm hoping other people have been witness to it.

My little drummer boy pointed it out the other day! He is in awe of Danny - says he must be a very well coordinated octopus.

Actually, I thought they were 32nd notes... but I could be mistaken. Seems too fast to be 16ths.

Y'know, after listening to this song over and over, and putting on headphones and blasting the volume, I still don't think I hear it; unless it's the thudding (ha, I wish I had a better description...) at the latter part of 10:03...

Is that it?

BlanketEffect

Yeah, that would be it. Dunno if it's the setups you've used or what, but it shouldn't just sound like 'thudding'; it's a pretty distinct six-stroke roll on a tom.

Heh, thudding was the only word I could think of at the moment; but yeah, I guess that's what I hear - it sounds awesome.

I've no idea what a tom is... My knowledge regarding instruments is severely lacking.

Word. Nobody knows everything.

Doesn't he chuck in a few of those throughout that climax part? The rolls are fuckin sweet.

Hm? That's the only one I hear in the song, I'm afraid...

It's the only one like the one that I cited.

The song erupts at about 9:30....and DC's attacks are super fast...but none are faster than at 9:57 IMO.
