The climax to this song in general has hot to be one of the most intense and emotional of any song I have heard in a long time. I am growing more and more attached to it everytime I hear it. Even though it's a very personal song for MJK I think it really hits emotional vibes on a universal scale. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that this is such a unique song for TOOL. Could be just nice to have them playing something a bit different, stepping out of their regularity.

What do you consider the climax? "Set as I am in my ways and my arrogance"?

i always felt like the line

"10,000 days in the fire..." was the climax

Well this song just climax's for me at "Set in my ways...", it just feels more powerful at that point for me.

Same here, I love that part. It's so powerful. I think technically the climax of the peice is the end of Pt. 1 when his mother actually dies in the music (or at least that's how I interperet it) because at that point there is no turning back, which is literally what a climax is, the point of no turning back.

This song has 2 climaxes... both kick ass and are very powerful/emotional.

I would agree that the song has two climaxes: give me my wings/set in my ways. But for me, the ultimate climax is the "Judith Marie" moment.

"Fetch me the spirit, the son and the father...", Sends chills down my spine everytime I hear it. I consider the following "Give me my wings!", to be the climax, it has quite the emotional impact.

The climax for me begins at "fetch me the spirit, the son and the father" and ends in "unconditional one"

Same here. But it starts at "You're the only one who could hold your head up high..." for me.

^ yes!, but I have to include the...."high is the way...you where the light and the way..." on through. its just such a powerful moment lyrically.

For me, the climax of the song starts at "Listen to the tales and romanticize," and lasts for about 11 minutes after that.

When the crazy bass-drum sequence that plays in 5/8 while Nard and Adam play in 6/8 ... the whole hey, oh, hey, oh, ending at the "you were the light the way they would only read about." I don't really see it as a climax, but it's my favorite part of the whole album for sure.
