I wondered if anyone else had thought about who the main head is based on.

They remind me of David, especially the profile view.

Seems to have that mediterranean look don't he?

Yeah it does but I don't think it was on purpose. The main head can look like a lot of people

Hey ! It might be true, because Alex Grey loves Michelangelo.

david was a scumbag who sent a man to die on the front line so he could have

his wife...

I thought it was a young David Letterman.............LOL

i went to his studio in new york today and i looked at that painting for a good 5 or 10 min. I think personally it just looks like a regular face not much like David" just how i see it.

I had the chance to visit his studio about 2 weeks ago and I actually had the opportunity to speak with him. I specifically asked if the face represented any person and long story short he basically said "it doesnt matter" who it is. it's not about who the face represents... but the concept behind the design, what it symbolizes.

It's crazy though. The painting in his studio is still unfinished but it is about 7 feet tall and probably over 10 feet wide. I literally stood there looking at this painting for 30 minutes and completely got lost in it. It's incredible. I recommend anyone who has the ability to go, to go. There's just this amazing aura about the whole place, it's incredible.
