None of us will ever even remotely know what MJK writes about, so why do we try and decipher his words?

He writes for himself, not for any of us. It would be stupid to think we know what his lyrics are about.

I personally disagree. If his desire is for people to be inspired by the music, why would he only write for himself? That is a selfish practice, anyway. If he wants to write for himself he can keep it to himself instead of letting millions of others hear it. Not only that, but most of the time he is not speaking from his own personal vantage point, just letting the reflection shine off of him, while his ego, what makes him HIM, is pushed aside so that this is possible. Personally, I think he writes for us. At the end of APC he is frustrated because he;s "been over this before" and it just keeps going, and going, and going, people still dont get it. In the Patient he assumes the position of a prophet, or healer, or messenger who is tired. If it werent for the rewards to reap, or the desire to heal, he would have walked away by now. And we cant forget that the speaker still may. If you choose to think he doesnt write for you, thats fine. He'll still keep digging until you feel something.
