I think that this song may have a more direct meaning than what some people think.

...Eden has enough to go around?
Could this be a reference to the age old war over the "Holy Lands"?

Monkeys with thumbs:
Maybe this is a reference to the more primitive humans. The one who seem to take the most primitive actions to get what they want...........OR
this could have a more literal meaning that humans are nothing more than monkeys with thumbs. We think we are so high and mighty when really we are not.

Angels on the sideline again...:
the key word in this line is AGAIN. This implies that 'this' has happened more than once. (We have been at war with the middle east more than once) Also, the use of the word sideline makes me think of a game or contest or some type.

Where there's one you're bound to divide it Right in two:
A reference to how we (the world population) do not like to share. (again reference Eden).
