shitty CD quality

i own lateralus. no wait, i OWNED lateralus. from the moment i took it out of the case, i noticed you can just scratch off the paint from the CD. and no, it was not a copy.

recently i put the CD in my pocket, in a carton protective case. im sure i didnt do anything violent with it, but when i took it out, it was broken. imagine that. broken in half. pisses me off. next time ill buy a goddamn copy.

My copy came from New Zealand, went to Australia, got lost in North Carolina for a little while, came back to Australia,went for a holiday in Europe(Frankfurt, Yugo, Greece), fell down 2 stories, and back again. Not a scratch on it.

i dont think the store ripped me off. its a huge warehouse, specialised in CD and hard- and software.

i didnt mean that about the copy. i'd never do that.

still, very strange no one else has the same complaint.

anyone interested in a CD box?

I usually burn copies of all my important CD's and keep
the originals in my CD shelf at home. Most of my CD's
are scratch-free.

I don't do backups nor do I keep my cd's in the shelf all the time but they're still like new. I am so good. :D

I'm jealous. I always manage to wreck the copies somehow.
My burned copy of Lateralus was the only CD I've ever cracked.
(maybe there's a curse on all copies of Lateralus which
makes them more likely to get cracked).

my CD is scratched beyond belief because I listen to it all the time.... so I coped 90% of all my CDs when I went on my Florida trip... because if I lost them I would go psycho... which was a good idea... because now I just listened to my burned copy of Lateralus so the original doesn't get scratched beyond belief...

sometimes on the orig the patient skips right when it gets heavy for the first time.... it has killed countless toolgasm moments when I'm just so psyched out and ready for that heavy part and it starts skipping.......

i know what you mean...my lateralus cd has a scratch in the exact same place! i even tried cleaning it like 3 times until the scratch finally disappeared and it STILL skips! i think some greater power could be at work here...haha, or maybe i just have a shitty cd player...
