I don't think this is Maynard telling us he's christian, and i don't think its him preaching his mothers beliefs. I think what Maynard is saying, is after 27 years (10,000 days) of suffering, she deserves to be in heaven. That she deserves eternal bliss, that it'd be lovely to know that a heaven existed and that she was safe there.
