I think this is Maynard Speaking to someone telling them that they above all others deserve recognition by God.

For instance:
"Listen to the tales as we all rationalize
Our way into the arms of the savior,
Feigning all the trials and the tribulations;
None of us have actually been there.
Not like you."

Another thought derived from this part of the song:
"You're the only one who can hold your head up high,
Shake your fists at the gates saying:
"I have come home now!
Fetch me the spirit, the son, and the father.
Tell them their pillar of faith has ascended.
It's time now!
My time now!
Give me my, give me my wings!"

I think maynard is saying that this person is probably the only person he knows who is worthy of making it into their "heaven"

I dont kno tell me what you guys think.....

Yeah, the person is his mother. Read around a little, you'll find out a lot of info in here.

The christian view would be that we are all undeserving of heaven, no matter how good we are in life. The only thing that can save us is Christ, and we should follow his will and God's will, and beg forgiveness. Not demand anything of him or of God... see my thread on blasphemy.

Seems I've struck a nerve... sure pissed Professor Pudding off LOL. All he could muster is a moronic cuss of a response.

In any case, I should make the disclaimer that this is not my personal belief, just the way a christian would see things.

I see your point, I think you are dead on in your assesment of the lyrics.
