Do you think he's saying "shine on benevolent (Son?)"

Maybe referring to himself as the Son. Son of Judith Marie? He wants to remain true to himself not be tainted or changed by his fame. Maybe his true self is often found when he thinks of himself as her son as opposed to the rock star he's become.

Then at the end he tells all of us obsessed fans to stay out of his way.

Any thoughts?

was it push it or pu shit? :P
who knows :P

my opinion is that 'son' doesn't have anything to do with the whole song, though.

I'll stick with "shine on the level and son"

Could refer to Jesus. Son of God.

I know many would disagree, but it's still a possibility.

"Shine on forever
Shine on benevolent sun
Shine down upon the broken
Shine [on 'til / until] the two become one

Shine on forever
Shine on benevolent sun
Shine down upon the severed
Shine [on 'til / until] the two become one"

Shining down upon the broken and the severed until the two become one doesn't sound like something he would ask of himself. I don't think MJK would refer to himself as benevolent either... it seems too egotistical and narcissistic.

I don't see how the sun could make two become one. But maybe someone else can think of some connections.
