With the "you musta been high" and pot-kettle references, this song reminds me of that neoconservative windbag Rush Limbaugh.

"And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs,
using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good
because we know what happens to people in societies and
neighborhoods which become consumed by them. And so if
people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought
to be accused and they ought to be convicted and
they ought to be sent up." - Rush Limbaugh

... mere moments later, we find Mr. Limbaugh is a junkie who forged prescriptions to get his drugs.

Am I crazy for thinking this?

Hmmm... might be. But I tend to think it's about hypocrites in general. I don't think Tool has ever listened to Rush haha.

Someone should take this out of context and put it in their signature.

I don't think that is what the song is about, it's just what it reminds me of.

awesome. btw, Rush has declared a total and sweeping legal victory (over whom i'm not sure). he still has 18 months of probation, a fine and must submit to random drug tests, but dammit, he won.

mdurrant,

This is the most likely explanation I've heard yet. I listen to that lunatic get on his soapbox every day just to remind myself of the kind of person i don't want to be.

Yeah, I posted this about a week ago, it got moved to "breaking news". heh.

I'm sure Tool has listened to him before, who hasn't?
They're certainly familiar with his situation at the very least.

Its just sad that people are able to overlook his "mistake" while looking down their noses at the millions of responsible users of marijuana.

And people listen to this fuck, and just love him.
His audience is made up exclusively of the people that I hate like no one else, coincidentally they are the same people that voted the "retard king" into the oval office.

No trial, no jail time, no admission of guilt. A victory of sorts.

Sounds a bit like a kangaroo case to me.
