Does anyone agree with my philosophy of new tool albums??
When you first hear it, lets say 10,000 days, you really have no idea what to exact your focus on, so you just listen, not knowing what to expect, like it was playing on the radio, or in the background of a party. Because your not "in tune", you automatically think this cd is not good. Disappointment arises, and you hate it. (This is not my view of the cd though)
Once you listen to a particular song, you realize what stands out. You listen to that instrument only, over and over, find favorite parts. Then you end up listening to the entire cd over and over, and, contrary to your earlier side of hate, you end up loving this album.
For example I love the album Undertow, and I listen to it over and over, and I have found tons of amazing riffs, vocal mastery, and percussional standouts.
Just wondering if this is what the majority of reviewers I have read are under the influence of.
