Just got home from the show. Fuckin' fantastic. Awesome sound, awesome show. I think it was the same setlist as Norway but I'm not 100% sure.
They started with Stinkfist and the second song was The Pot. That's for sure.

After Stinkfist, Maynard said: "-I have some bad news... black shirts is out".
*Big laugh*.
Then he continued:_"White shirts with a logo is the shit!"

He actually said...." I have some bad news...black shirts are out. Pink shirts with a logo here (pointing to his left chest) is the shit".

Setlist

Intro
Stinkfist (extended)
The Pot
46&2 (with a looong intro because something was wrong with the drums)
Jambi (Maynard : "New album, new songs...that is just the way it is")
Schism (extended and with the fast part at the end)
Sober
Lateralus
Opiate
Vicarious
Anema

Saw them a week ago at Roskilde. Roskilde was much better, but this was good to . Goodnite.

It don't have much to compare to, I saw them five years ago when I was a freaking kid. Nonetheless it was fucking awesome. My head exploded when they played Lateralus.

I caught the bottle of water that Maynards threw in to the crowd. :D

Fantastic!!!

My 4th Tool show (Arvika 1994, Roskilde 2001, Kristiansand 2006) and it was great!

Maynard was in a fantastic mood and talked a lot between the songs. During the intro to the first song he made a lot of funny/strange noises and seemed in a very good mood (compared to Norway)
His singing was good but he didn't do the falsetto part on Stinkfist nor the scream on Opiate.

Dannys wire hi-hat broke down during The Pot which resulted in the long intro to 46 & 2 as mentioned above.

One of the guys in the front managed to get one of the security guys to give him Adams setlist ... At least I got a photo of it :)

I loved the show but have similar complaints to the show in Kristiansand:
- THE BASS DRUMS!! Why? Again over mixed and drenching the guitar. It's so sad. I myself work as a sound technician from time to time, and I can't understand why they do it.
- The stoned pogo-jumpers around me that almost trampled my girlfriend ...

Quotes from Maynard:
"I have some bad news ... black t-shirts are out ... pink tops with a logo here (pointing at his chest) ... is the shit"
"See you again ... sometime" (hmmmm ... no november here in sweden ...)

Fantastic!!!!

I'll be putting up some pictures and stuff ... link coming soon.

AMAZING! First tool show I've ever been to, I hope they will be back in november, elsewhere I'll pack my things and go to fucking denmark.. But from now on I don't want a standing ticket and no fucking crowd surfing metal heads, one guy landed on my shoulder and I almost hurt myself. The sound was great and it looked like maynard really enjoyed himself and the crowd, which by the way was fucking wild.

Yep, totally awesome. One of the best shows I've ever been to. Great to see Maynard in such a great mood too!

Absolutly stunning... I need no other Gods!

I´ve been a hardcore fan since -93 and at last, for the first time ever, I´ve managed to see them live! There will be no sense to see other bands anymore, there´s no way someone could do a better show or music than this... Thank you Tool!!! I can´t wait until next time!

Second Tool-show for me. Just amazing, I stood just below Justin and got my chest pounded by the speakers all show. I had one person in front of me before the fence. All the guys seemed to be in such a good mood. They all came up to the front of the scene when finished playing to thank the audience.
More quotes from Maynard during the show:
- "Fan-fucking-tastic"
- "You think theres all this mystique, but we are just some drunk old men playing music" (or something like that).
- I thought he said that Tank tops with the logo was the shit?
- "See u... sometime"... But hey that could just mean that it'll be in december.
The setlist was thrown as a ball of paper from Justin, I almost got it but a guy next to did and promised me he would frame it and hang it on the wall :) I got a picture of it though.

Stupid discussion but he said "tank tops", and that's the end of that chapter. :)

oki ... agree on that one :)

Regarding the qoute about mystique and drunk men playing music, he also said something about "searching the internet, looking meanings" or something.

Really good show, though they played Schism better in Kristiansand (perfection) . Fav quote from the 'nard: "You guys think it's all this mystery don't you, but we are really just drunken old men. (cheers) All we really want is to make you put nudie pics of yourself up on the internet. The address you can send them to is...." (launces into Opiate) .. :D

This was my second TOOL show (first one was Hultsfred 2001).

I absolutely loved it. Longer set than last time I saw them, but of course I could've taken in another hour :)
They didn't take the "podium break", probably because of the technical difficulties in The Pot / Forty Six & 2.
Too bad about no hints of fall dates in sweden.

Can't really single out any favorites -- it all feels like one self-contained, great experience (chalk that down to my bad memory, perhaps) -- but you can't go wrong with Jambi or Lateralus.

First Tool concert for me, although I've been a fan for I don't know how long. Since setlist and quotes have already been posted, I'll just say what I thought about it.

Sound: Pretty good, but I've heard better. As someone mentioned above, the bass drums were way too loud and it was hard to hear anything else when Danny was going for some double-bass drumming.
And the music from the floating restaurant on the other side of the river could be heard between songs. Not really a problem, but the music sucked so I though I should mention it. :)

Crowd: Pretty good, considering the fact that it was a festival crowd of which many people had been banging away to Ace of Spades and Overkill ten minutes earlier.
I just don't understand all these people who just HAVE to work their way to the front, pushing and shoving, and then work their way back again about five minutes later. They are very annoying.

Band: Tool = awesome. I didn't think Maynard would talk as much as he actually did, but he seemed to be in a good mood with all the jokes (after they had improvised for a long time while the drums were being repaired: "This is what we call a show-stopper...") and he actually praised the crowd ("Fan-fucking-tastic"). Also, the lightshow and the movie in the background was beautiful.

Setlist: Well, I almost got all the songs I wanted to hear. I was really surprised (and more than just a little happy) that they played Opiate, which is probably my favourite Tool-song.

All-in-all it was an awesome experience.

Great show,my ears are still ringing :-)
A big fuck you to the people who almost hit Justin with a water bottle.

Setlist was okay ( i missed Right in Two though )

Hopefully they will return in late fall again.

Highlights were Opiate,Aenema and Lateralus.

Thanks

Great show!!!
Saw them at Roskilde 2001 and they played Opiate that time too.
Would like to see a "Tool only" sitting soon.
Cant really stand all these "Metal heads" jumping around all over the place.
Ohh well Great , great show!!!

First live TOOL-show for me.

The sound was really loud, and I mean LOUD! The change in my pocket rattled and my nostrils were flapping in the wind of the speakers. The stage crew actually had to tie some of the speakers down halfway through the show because of the vibrations making the speakers move towards the crowd.
The entire band seemed happy with the audience and were in a good mood.
It would probably have sounded better had I been standing a bit further away fron the stage, like 20 or 30 metres or so. But, hell, I can live with the ringing in my ears for a fey days since this was the first time I saw them live.
Danny seemed pissed at his drums the way he was beating them almost continously.

About Maynards talking;
Yup, he said "pink tank-tops, with a little logo right here, thats the shit."
He also said: "you think its all a puzzle, that there is some higher meaning to it. But, honestly, we're just a bunch of old drunk guys looking for dirty pictures on the internet."

And it seems like all of us remember it differently, but that's the way i heard it, and I haven't been proven wrong since -87.

Shit, I need more tool, come back here! Play some more!

I've been a fan since Undertow came and finally I got to see Tool live. Well what can I say? "Fanfuckingtastic"!! Yes, the bass was too loud so I had to step back a bit but anyways - what a show..!

This version of Stinkfist was just plain cruel. Jambi and of course Vicarious...almost knocked me over.
Maynard and Danny were flawless all way through the show.

Got a fairly nice set of pics as well. Hope you like them too:

And finally a little message to the Metaltown crew...

Fuck yeah this show was the shit. My first show ever and I was pretty amazed and stunned afterwards. Might have been my best live experience ever, and I've seen quite a lot imo. I sure hope they'll come back in November.

And props to MetalTown for a great festival, but yeah, more fucking beer taps.
