but the glasses are easier on the eyes and head and the pictures are bigger and more in focus for me. i can really see all the little details... especially in the band member photos

I think the "Psychadelic Skulls and Faces" is pretty awesome. Mostly because I had that painting as my desktop for a long time and have really grown to like it, seeing it in 3D is that much more interesting and captivating.

I had always heard of stereoscopic stuff but this is the first time I have actually seen it. I just bought a $60 lens for my digital camera that takes stereoscopic images. Should be fun to mess with.

I like Maynard's picture, in the mirror it looks like the woman is holding him against her chest, like it's his mom. Plus, he's watching TV like in Vicarious, with the remote in his hand looking straight at... us. That and the naked ass omg asdhhldk

i thought maynard's pic was one of the best. the maniquin in the mirror looks insane. adam's pic is also pretty crazy, with the skeleton. they are all awesome though. i did not look at any of the artwork in the album until i bought the cd. couldnt figure out what the glasses were all about at first. for a couple of minutes i thought they were magnifying glasses.

the wirey spiral is great along with the flaming coil :)
it is just genius

for the band photography i really love danny's area
it is dark and full of magifc and adams...i just love
the intensity of the collection

beautiful work by the band i must say

i like that one too cos even though i have the album for a week now i only found that pic today, must have been skipping by it all this time (n00b)

i love the skull-womb pic cos my friend looked at it (not knowing tool at all) and asked "why has that man got a baby in his skull?", he was so earnest it has to get my no.1

Adam all the way! I mean shit, he designed, or helped, with the artwork so there you go. Plus he actually looks like he belongs in some strange laboratory, performing wierd experiments with freud

DeathByPain
05-04-2006, 10:47 AM
I voted for Danny's picture. I love the magic snake that he's capturing in a jar. If you follow its trail all the way to the back of the room you can *almost* see where it came from, but no matter how you turn the thing you can't really see behind him ^.^ Maynard's naked chick stroking the giant glowing phallis is a good one too. I think the wiry spiral guy one is the most dramatic as far as 3D effect goes though. The eyes are great for just spacing out with. I don't like the blurry raven - I mean wtf, it's still blurry even when my eyes manage to (un?)focus properly. How rude.

i chose the spiral of fire thingy one. i think you can get most of that stuff in the bands pictures and others from that store they have linked on Toolband, necromancer. i might actually buy a t-shirt from that site or something.

The depth in Maynards image is just amazing. There's so many levels. The glass of vine, him, the mirror image and the lady thing in the background. But the coolest thing is the weird telephone, got to get me one of those.

The depth in Dannys is so cool. The flame snake thing comes from all the way in the back of the room to the front. Thats pretty sick.

Check out what I did to the Mona Lisa
http://home.comcast.net/~khemystri/monalisa-stereo.jpg

Im using 3dsmax....

for instance..... WHITELIGHT (by alex grey),

I created a 3 dimension tube,
I then mapped the alex grey image onto the 3d tube
and then created two cameras... i then rendered the image
using the offset virtual cameras...

Im getting better at this.... in the above photo,
i created mona lisa in 3d.... i modeled her neck, her face, eyesockets, gown,
arms, hands....

i couldve modeled the background, and i eventually will, as you
can see, its just flat, as if shes standing in front of a poster, but her body
and face have depth....

im obsessed with this process... expect more of these from me...
especially from alex grey images, theyre perfect due to the fact that he
uses alot of geometry in his art....

all i need now are high quality scans.... Maybe ill email alex, show him my work so far, and get some free lithographs out of the deal.

I'm so jealous of you guys.

The images don't work for me at all. When I view them through the glasses, I just see the two pictures merged into one. Nothing three-dimensional about them.

I really enjoy each of the band members facial expressions. Each one has a different yet playful and energentic look. Each seem to be smiling in their own way. I've yet to see pics so thought out and creative (other than maybe the bbq ones). I voted for Danny's but now couldn't pick a favorite.

concerning the skull in the glass case...it appears to me to be very similar to a picture i saw of skulls found in peru (the shape of the skulls in particular)
...and the decorated (tibetan?) skull, the one the light is coming from/going into... just wondering about the reoccurance of skulls throughout the artwork

All of the images are pretty cool. I like Alex Grey's artwork but the photos of the band members impressed me the most. I've never seen such realistic 3D before. They look like they really are right in front of me. I like how you can see what's on the wall behind Danny. Justin looks really cool with the bird and the candles all over. Maynard's is probably my favorite (promoting his wine, of course), and his expression is really piercing. I like Adam's too and the way he's leaning on the table as if he's considering your presence. The stuff behind him is neat, too. I wonder if each of the guys chose what they wanted in their picture.
