View Full Version : Does Maynard have Native American Ancestry?

I wonder if Maynard has some Native American ancestry in his family tree. That could be why he originally had the Mohawk in the Opiate/Undertow days. It's never been a punk-style Mohawk. but more of an Apache-Warrior type that goes down his neck. Either he has ancestry or he believes he was Native American in a past life. I don't think it's done just for style. Even though I don't enjoy the track, why else would Lipan Conjuring be on there? He's grown the Mohawk back now too.

he had the mohawk in the pics on the album artwork, but in recent interviews etc he seems to be totally bald again..

and this song was made by danny with a native american friend of his who runs some sort of "tracking school".. it has nothing to do with maynard. :)

k, now that i think of it, the video i saw of him was recorded a few months ago when they were in europe, so he could've grown the mohawk since then..

but he *does* like the wigs a lot..

You know...the song sounds more like a chain-gang tune to me than any Native American chant I've ever heard.

i used a video player (can't remember which, but all of them do it, i think) to take screen caps of each frame in that scene, then i put them all together with Jasc AnimationShop.
