I would say both, because it's unclear what the metaphysical/epistemological status is of either alien encounters or drug experiences which feel that real. Phenomenologically, that is.

This song is some of the things their friend spoke about while on his trip. He progressively freaked out until he apparently passed out in a pile of his own shit in his sleeping bag. When he woke up he did not remember any of what had happened on his trip or what he had said.
