I e-mailed Kabir about a month or two ago telling him what that cross thingie in the back of the Lateralus CD case and liner art was, but I'm not sure he got the e-mail, as I still haven't got a reply, nor have I seen an update on the relative FAQ people asked.
Well that's two Vajras (Sanskrit name) or Dorje (Tibettan name); Thunderbolts, crossed together! Their use is ceremonial in Buddhism. Alex Grey is known to be greatly influenced by Buddhism in his art!
