Damn I just thought of Wizard of Oz or Planet of the Apes, but yeah "The Prophecy" is a good one too.

the first thing i thought of was the book ishmael by daniel quinn. the whole "humans think the universe was created for them" line of thought seem to fit here.

and there was a "talking" gorilla too.

I am all about Space Odyssey on this one. Not only the monkeys but and the use of tools (blade, club, technology) being the reason for mans downfall as it in in SO 2001.
