No knock against the song, but I swear I thought it was Adam Levine from Maroon 5 singing until the drums kicked in. Only Danny Carey plays those kind of polyrhythms in rock music these days. I swore the song was a fake for the first few seconds.

I thought the same shit. Who know until the day the actual album comes out if any of it's real. I have to believe that at least ONE part of the leaked cd isn't real whether it be a song or the titles or whatever.

it's tricky. I still kinda hope the band has something up their sleeve, but I'm starting to think they don't.I hate to get myself involved in all the hoax theories and all that.

personally I think what's going on is people are so put off by the new stuff being different that they refuse to even believe it's real. Funny. For a band whose message revolves around being openminded and accepting change and celebrating differences, their fans sure can be stubborn.

All I ask from tool is that they deliver me intense, emotional music played in a musically skillful and interesting way. What I've heard of the new stuff works for me. Vicarious, especially, is bananas. Sounds like undertow era tool playing with the skills and chemistry of lateralus era tool.

despite the odd vocal style in the beginning, this song really shows how versatile Maynard is as a vocalist. The verses are all over the place vocally and so bluesy. Something VERY different from the usual Tool style. I even hear some Chris Cornell influence in these vox.
