I found in the net a full Lateralus concert video dated November 16th 2002 in Oklahoma (can also be another city but the date should be correct).
Right before the last song of the show, Lateralus itself, adam plays a little melody in which danny and justin step in.
And now, as i listened to 10,000 days "Wings for Marie" the whole guitar theme is first copied and varies then, but stays in this melody range. The same is for Wings Part 2, since both songs belong together.

So what? Nothing special to use old stuff in the new record, but it surprises me nevertheless.
I will look if I can find a torrent link or any other to this video

Date is correct. The remastered DVD that's in circulation has my audio synced with it. If i'm not mistaken they did this at more than 1 show. When I first heard Wings for Marie, that was the first thing that I noticed (the melody).

yes as u have found out we already knew that...also i find no big deal with bands using jamming sessions to make songs...as that is the purpose of those sessions...so anyone who wants to bitch and moan about them using a jam they have heard instead of a jam they haven't heard should shut up
