if you buy the cd on the 2nd and its the same as the leak and then on the 16th they release the import and its got more shit on it? I mean I know that I would buy both of them instantly but it would really piss me off if they did that. just a ploy to make money. Tool doesn't strike me as a band that would do that but record labels are all about the bottom line and they will exploit artist if necessary. tool has always said that the vast majority of their income comes from touring. so maybe the record company may just be trying to make more money off of them?

Of course I'd be pissed. Its just a way to get more money.

How could you possibly be pissed!?
Pull your heads out of your collective asses - I've been waiting 5 years for this album and been overlooked since "Undertow" for a local concert. I'd be FREAKING EXTATIC if another album came out on the 16th! This leak is already better than Viagra - how could I be pissed about a double shot of it 2 weeks later!?

I wouldn't be pissed. Because there is *no* other album.
Seriously, stop being delusional. You're gonna be even more pissed when nothing happens.

If it was the may 2nd version of 10,000 days with more content I would be pissed and not buy it. I'd download and possibly distrubute if i was feeling narcy.

I HATE it when things like that happen.

I have not yet listened to or downloaded 10,000 Days, but if they pulled some shit like that, I would absolutely download the import. I do not think they would do that. Now, if the import is comprised of completely different/new material, then of course I would buy both.

No. I wouldn't be pissed because I didn't steal the album. I don't believe in passing laws against p2p but I think people shouldn't take from artists so blatantly because they're not patient enough to wait two weeks.

Most likely May 16th is nothing but a Japanese pressing...maybe something more.

If it's crap, it's crap. We're all human and we all put people on terrible pedestals; we make it a condition for them to be excellent 100% of the time; it's not realistic.
It's just lame. I saw another thread where a guy said he came to near-tears because Tool's album wasn't what he wanted it to be. I appreciate that he enjoys Tool; most all of us like some part of their past albums. I will probably like 10000 Days in the form the artists meant for it to be in. But to say that your life (or personal development) is centered around a rock band...well where's your life then?

Just because someone has downloaded music, doesnt mean they are not going to pay money for it when its released.

And on a tangent, its been my experience that the large majority of music downloaded is music people would not pay for anyway, but just want to check out. In fact, that was how I got into TOOL - I was recommended some of their material, so I downloaded it to check it out, and eventually purchased all of their CD's.

Thats is one side of the P2P argument I hardly ever see represented. TOOL can attribute the X amount of English Pounds spent on CD's etc bought to 'illegal downloading'.

+ all the ppl i got hooked on TOOL..

Damn, you and Maynard have the same misconception about downloading music. Just because someone has downloaded music, doesnt mean they are not going to pay money for it when its released.

In fact, that was how I got into TOOL, I was recommended some of their material, so I downloaded it to check it out, and eventually purchased all of their CD's. I even paid money for fucking emotive :/

It's not really a misconception at all: it's the same as taking it out of the band's hands. Now, I actually don't think the law should be involved or the idiotic RIAA. I just think there should be a huge attitude change toward artists by both consumers and record companies (I find the execs in the industry to be right up there with pedophiles on the ethical scale). And I even admit that it might have to be p2p that will help with this, but there's not really an excuse. It's theft if you keep the file.

Sorry about emotive :( Hopefully, APC is over for good.
