Why are Opiate, Lateralus, Undertow, and Aenema Being released May 16?

Why are Opiate, Undertow, Aenema and Lateralus all being released May 16? I know they are imports, but why now?

I don't think anybody can really say, but if I had to guess, it would be because they expect there to be more interest in tool (in the import case, the interest will be abroad) when the new cd comes out. It's not uncommon for bands older cd's to be reissues when they release a new cd, but maybe tool's are only being reissues out of the USA.

It's a reprinting. My guess is no new CD's have been produced since shortly after Laturalus, probably 2002ish. People are going to want old Tool after new Tool comes out, so they're making more. It's fairly standard.

Actually, I'm pretty sure each country is getting a different "decoy"... and if everyone in the world plays theirs at the same time really loud, the entire world will hear the new album.

But it's a natural action of bands, new album , people who don't know will be interested in hearing the previous ones. I'm glad about that, i don't have salival cause i live in portugal and it's really hard to find a fucking store that will compromise to get me that DVD. Maybe now it will be easy for me.

As anyone decided to wait for the new album to hit the stores, or am I the only one who hasn't downloaded it?

its because Tools old record label in the Uk died.

their new deal with Sony BMG means that they get to reissue the back catalogue with their logo on it, and they're doing it sooner rather than later.

i'd like a deluxe edition aenima with a live cd. please!
