Seeing as multiple people from Luxemburg (where the album is out apparently) say they have the album and it contains 1 CD with the same songs as the leak.

It's seems that our hopes for a 2nd Tool album were unfounded.

Now I love 10,00 Days but I couldn't help but feel it didn't "flow" the way the previous albums did and lacked a unifying theme that I could fathom.

So I have to admit to at least giving the "decoy" theory a 50% chance of being true in my mind, if for no other reason than I wanted to believe it.

Anyone still clinging to the hope?

no. hope died a long time ago. before i knew about the hoax. there was one guy that wrote about all this hype ending up causing alot of people dissapointment, and this is exactly what happened. so much hype, too little information, and people start hoping. eh. but i was one of them as well, so i cant wave fingers. No hope. Thinking about the hoax theory more, it sounds ridiculous. I can't help but think that Tool did that to themselves. A good band can come out with a shit album. Metallica was good for awhile. Then I think they fell in love with the idea of an RIAA more than music. It's only probably worse with Tool because we get new material after they've worked on it for awhile (two full-length albums in 10 years).

I haven't heard the supposed "decoy." Even if a lot of you say it's shit, I am still going to enjoy May 2nd and not be bitter about anything.

probably try and decipher a hidden date on the UPC label for when the REAL album comes out. Never forget....1/16/06...errr...1/17/06....and....4/1/06 and...4/4/06...and 4/13/06....and 4/17/06...and 5/2/06....and 5/16/06...and 6/6/06.

So many dates and we got two things out of all of them. Sweet.

Even if this album consists only of Vicarious, and 50 minutes of white noise, it would still be the best album in about the past year, and it would be the album of the decade if it weren't for Frances The Mute. In my opinion you guys ruin it for yourselves listening to this stuff for the first time on your fuzzy warbling mp3s.

On another note, at least we don't have to worry about a 10 year retrospective from T00L, considering they've put out 2 albums in that span. Maybe the restrospective comes 10,000 days from now.

I don't know how it's possible but it's the truth. I've bought the cd yesterday in Luxemburg (New Sound shop in the center of the town). I think that it's not legal to sell the record before the official release date but these shops don't give a fuck about this !!! Actually it's the same record as the leak like many people have noticed it on this board. A friend of mine has even bought the album three days ago in a CD store in Metz (France)... Like I said yesterday, the packaging is awesome and I like the music too. I don't think that there will be another record later (in june or whatever). The packaging is posted in an another thread (the luxemburg thread ???). Enjoy. It's the truth. I think most of the hoax theory believers and leak bashers will be fully disappointed. Sorry for them !

Edit : there is only one CD, it's not a dual disc and no 5.1 or such thing around. The lenses are working great. Pictures of the band are great too (Danny's one is my fav but I like also the Maynard's one, by the way what a haircut for the man !!!). NO lyrics in the booklet

i just got word from Danny himself that the whole thing really is an elaborate hoax, and that the REAL album will be released under the name IV, and the band changed their name to Godsmack in honor of the song God Smack by Alice in Chains, who Maynard recently sang a song with (Layne Staley having sung live on an Opiate song).

Godsmack is on it also, and have released their new album under the name Tool, and teh album is called 10,000 Days.

so what every body has, if you read between the lines, is the new Norah Jones album.

the 6/6/06 stuff is promoting the new Omen remake, which if you watch backwards is actually the long awaited Tool live performance we've all been waiting for.

What I meant was I have seen the picture of a person holding the CD case all wrapped up, but I hadn't seen this particular picture. If others have seen it thats fine, I just havent.

well i'm from germany and i bought the cd today in the morning.
i ain't got the 10000days from the net, so i only can say:
-it contains of 1 cd
-same tracks like on the "decoy" i think, if i compare the tracklists
-talked to a friend who got the decoy too, he said the only difference is that there are no 2sec gaps between the tracks, and its mastered better. he thought that the leak is an older unfinished mastered version and the cd itself is the finished one.
