yeah so maynard had an idea... big whoop. I started this thread because I read something that someone from the tool family said and i was inspired to try it.


I noticed that when you look at the new packaging you can see that two eyes on the front face of the cover has two glass pieces in them, YOu will also see that you can open it up to loook at stereoscopic picture. something that as a child freaked me out for fear of subliminal tampering.
so then I got to thinking about pink Floyd and Dark side of Oz and the Wizard. so I found these two songs both start out the same way.

just a thought, and Im too lazy right now to try this myself, but the voice that says "the system" or whatever is slowed down, meaning that for it to be correct, it needs to be sped up. Someone should try speeding it up until it is the same length as (-)ions and the starting them at the same time, see if anything shows up.

We all know these guys are creative like few. So most likely the 'original' multitrack comprises of what we now know as Faaip and Viginti. Then for some reason - lack of time perhaps - they decide to to with just the first 2.38 minutes for the Lateralus CD.

So comes 10.000, and now they realize that a.) Viginti sounds good by itself as an album closer, and b.) HEY, lets call it 23 and see if someone catches on. Hard? No of course not, it's there on the multitrack. Clever... well I like it. Conceptual continuity. LOL.

On the other hand... It didn't have to be anything plannes at all. If they came up winth the idea during recording of 10.000 it wouldn't be a problem to sync something to Faap or (-) Ions.

I just discovered if you play - ions and viginti tres so they end at the same time it sounds so much better then starting it at 23 second. Instead start - ions 1:02 into viginti tres. If you want to get exact its 1:02.590 into viginti tres.

Sounds cool and everything, but everyone acts so amazed. The reason Viginti Tres synchs up with other songs is because it doesn't really have a time signature. It's sort of just floating sound.. Just coincidental that it sounds good with (-) ions. Neat anyway.

I started Vigintin Tres on Musicmatch at 00:04 seconds, and started Sober from the beginning on Windows Media, turned up the volume to Sober to about half way, and turned down the volume of Viginti Tres to very minimal, but still loud enough that you could hear it a little while Sober was playing.

It sounded spectacular. The 'hidden message' came in right as the "quiet" part of Sober came in and started fading just at the right time. Try it.

oh and btw the fluttering or breathing sound from the mixed virginions or w/e mp3 sounds like wings to me and can also be found in the begining of wings for marie and the end of wings pt II... hope that helps.
