I've been watching too much war coverage but I came up with an interpetation of Pushit that follows the war. Obviously not an intended interpretation nor one that I would come up with if not for the media overflow. Nonetheless:

I will choke until I swallow...
Choke this infant here before me.
What is this but my reflection?
Who am I to judge and strike you down?
>>Iraq is reflection of US. Nobody has more weapons than US. How can we judge them when we are worse offenders than they.

But you're
Pushing and shoving me.
You still love me and you pushit on me.

Rest your trigger on my finger,
bang my head upon the fault line.
Take care not to make me enter.
'cause if I do we both may disappear.
>>Iraq and US push each others buttons goading each other into war. Warns Iraq not to make US invade as it may cause mutual distruction.

But you're pushing me,
Shoving me. Pushit on me.
Slipping back into the gap again.
I'm alive when you're touching me,
Alive when you're shoving me down.
>> The rush of war enlivens US.

But i'd trade it all
For just a little
Piece of mind.
>>US is willing to trade everything for protection from terrorism.

Put me somewhere I don't wanna be.
Seeing someplace I don't wanna see.
Never wanna see that place again.
>>Recalls tragedy of 9/11 and wants to avoid it in the future.

Saw that gap again today
As you were begging me to stay.
Managed to push myself away,
And you, as well.
>>Delays war for a time.

If, when I say I may fade like a sigh if I stay,
You minimize my movement anyway,
I must persuade you another way.
>>Regret the coming war and it's restrictions. Tries diplomacy again.

There's no love in fear.
>>To save Iraq(is) US decides to go to war.

Staring down the hole again.
Hands upon my back again.
Survival is my only friend.
Terrified of what may come.
>>Scared of possible consequences but US commits to war anyway.

Just remember I will always love you,
Even as I tear your fucking throat away.
But it will end no other way.
>>War is the only option left. Even as the bombs drop it is out of love for the Iraqi people.

Just a thought

Good interpretation. Not at all what Tool wanted...if you ask me...but good nontheless. proving that even old tool can have something to do with our lives today. Great
