Try not to listen to any live APC anymore...

I was listening to a San Jose show I went to (I think in 2001), and I started to get REALLY depressed that I'm probably not gonna be seeing them live anymore.... I was chillin in the seats in the back-middle, very content on staying there and smokin' some chron for the whole show. Then the lights go out, and the spotlight shines on Paz, 10-feet in the air on top a pedestal, playing a beautifully haunting dirge on her violin. I literally turned to my friends, shouted "Ttttthhhhee ya!" and took off down the aisle and raced to the floor, and enjoyed one of the best live shows I've experienced. Hearing the extras (Vacant, Ashes to Ashes) and hearing almost every album-song they played extended/slightly-altered (3 Libras, Orestes, Over, Thomas) was absolutely beautiful.

Sorry for the rant... this doesn't belong on a Tool board... hope you other APC fans who saw them live get real depressed so I'm not the only one. =P

the noose is about drug rehabilition, some has recovered from a drug addiction and thinks that they are better than others, the song asks how will they make amends for the terrible things they did to others whilst addicted.

wings is about MJKs mother going to heaven after spending so long i hell
he hates organised religion, but admires his mothers faith, basically saying she is the onyl one who believes in heaven and hell that can actually go to heaven cos of her faith, her light, shes going home! she can demand her wings cos she deserves them
