Not sure if this has been discussed, but I just thought of something somewhat interesting. Ever since Undertow (maybe even Opiate, although I'm pretty sure Hush was the only one), there has always been more than one single.

Being that we are in a state of WTF with all these decoy album accusations, please imagine a world in which 10,000 days is the real deal. What would be the second single?

If you go through the album, I really can't think of any song off 10,000 days besides Vicarious (even though Vicarious itself is a stretch for radio) that would suit radio. Possibly the closest would be The Pot, but I have a hard time imagining that. The rest of the songs are too long and spaced out to really be considered (unless there is a substantial amount of editing).

WTF

the pot will definitely be a single.

They could go the "Kid A" route and simply release online only video/audio movies. You are right though; with the exception of "The Pot," a lot of the songs I don't think would really work on the radio.

I'm pretty The Pot has already been determined as the single. Remember the Obelisong or whatever: 'P or V?'

I don't think the Pot is that radio friendly. I mean it's catchy, but it's more of a joke song than anything else. Personally, I would like to see Jambi be the next single. It's only a tad bit longer than Vicarious and they've released longer songs than 7:30 for radio play. We'll see though.

Singles aren't what is on the album after it's released. A band rerecords that song, so they can redo any song on that album and make it radio friendly.

i thought of this as well, not only is the pot the only candidate for single #2 but will shock people who think in the manner of 'all tool songs sound the same' blah blah, the pot will twist them up.

Honestly i would be happy if none of the song's were singles. It's weird that you guys would think Tool would worry about creating singles instead of the fantastic art they have.
