If 10,000 days in the fire could be equated to living a tortured life for that long, 27 years is roughly the length of time for almost every rock star legend that took their life in one form or another. Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin all died at the age of 27.

its clearly about something else. but music has a way of letting you take your own meaning from it. i think you brought up an underlying theme. an unintended theme. this track seems to be about loss. i like your observation. unfortunatly, it didnt turn out your way ;)
