I was speaking with a guy at Sounds (NZ Music store today, i pre-ordered my second copy of the cd) and he said that Jimmy is about his mom. Now I understand.
Do the math.

Maynard would have been 11 years old when his mum had a stroke in 1976.
Hence why he is always singing about 11.
Go read the lyrics again. They make sence.
And in Jimmy he isnt singing in the first person, he is singing in the 3rd Person.
Discuss.
It makes sence tro me now.

Cause if you listen to 10000 days, this is his release from all the pain he has been feeling. Thats why it is such a moving song.
