From his review:

Track 5 “The Pot” (Probably 6min 11 sec)
Oooooooh. This is THE one. Ya know what, pluggers? Radio might even go for this! Maynard’s vocals at the start are quite extraordinary. Place equal parts of Chris De Burgh, Tiny Tim and Bilal The Muezzin in a blender and run for your life. Easily the most commercial track to date. In fact, easily the most commercial track Tool have EVER done. That guitar is waaay strong again. Did Adam bribe Baresi? This is still twisted. It’s hard but commercial. The end spells a relief as climactic as a boil bursting. I go ‘Yessssss’ and the whole room of cool jouros looks round at me as if I’m a Bateman cartoon ‘The Man Who Ordered A Pork Sandwich In Blooms’. This is a SERIOUSLY awesome track. Just you mark my words.

"This is THE one."? "Radio might even go for this!"? "The most commercial track to date."? Am I missing something here? Was he just being sarcastic? How can anybody say this about this track? Deffinitely not the most commercial track. Despite its lenght I honestly think Vicarious fits as the most commercial track. I just don't get it.

Strange, strange, strange, song/album. I'm going to have to let this thing digest.

keep listening

andy king pretty much nailed it with this one

radio listeners will eat up the part around 3 minutes..it actually has a bit of a nickelback rhythm to it.

This tune reminds me how versatile this band are.

My brother hated Lateralus because he said it sounded like it was made by Tibetan monks. (I loved Lateralus).

But man... this song is a real throwback to classic Pre-Lateralus Tool !! Its their funkyest song to date, and Maynard's vocals really are extrordinary.

This song is very commercial in that big parts of it recall comercial arena rock poprock/metal and also the new metallica (crappy) sound that is a huge commercial hit.

It's classic and funky. What stations want to play that shit other than classic rock stations who play a lot of Zeppelin?

I don't see this working on the modern rock stations around my house, even though I see a lot of average people as liking it.
