if you read my post "Life Riff" you would learn that it is actually the intro to the Lateralus Tour.....

it is also the same exact riff the X-files uses.....

Lets not compare Tool and Mars Volta. They both happen to be my 2 favorite bands. Even if you don't like Mars Volta you should at least appreciate what they do.

Duuuuuuudes, when I saw Mars Volta open for APC, I was like "Jeez, these guys are trying toooo hard to be Led Zeppelin".

Posting on message boards should be banned when yer drunk. =P

When I saw them I thought they were just trying too hard to be creative and eccentric. The singer sure jumps around a lot, though.

And I sorta like their studio work, go figure.

cedric likes to jump all over the place

wish hed just stand there and sing...when he starts flipping out he gets out of breath and the vox sound like ass

that was what i hated about at the drive in....theyd make great studio stuff but try too hard to be explosive on stage and the music would sound like crap

Any of you think Maynard would start crying while singing this (and the next) song? Fuuuuuck, I know I would....

Dude, I truly fucking hope so... Not to be a voyeur... but because it would be PERFECT if he could connect with the audience on that level.

I made this exact same comment to my friend after hearing the intro. It does indeed give the same 'vibe' as Inertiatic ESP. Obviously not the same notes/riff, but it has that same feeling.

OOPs....upon further research of my own statement...the song that I was thinking of was Son Et Lumiere.
