[0:24]

Here from the king’s mountain view
Here from the wild dream come true

[0:34]

Feast like a sultan, I do
On treasures and flesh never few

[0:44]

But I
I would
Wish it
All, away
If I
Though I’d
Lose you
Just one day

[1:13]

The devil and his has me down
In love with the dark side I’d found

[1:23]

Dabble and all the way down
Up to my neck soon to drown

[1:33]

But you changed that all for me
Lifted me up turn me round

[1:43]

So I
I
I
I

[1:53]

I would
I would
I would
Wish
This
All
Ah-way

[2:13]

Pray like a potter does to dawn
Beg like a hooker all night long

[2:23]

Shout to the devil with my song
And got what I wanted all along

[2:33]

But I
And I would
If I could
I would

[2:45]

Wish it away
Wish it away
Wish it all away
Wanna wish it all away
No pressure could hold sway [?]
Or just a fight, my
Kneel it away, my sanity [?]

[3:30]

So if I could I’d wish it all away
If I found tomorrow, it’d take you away

[3:13]

You’re my piece of mind, my own
I said I’m just trying to hold on
One more day

[3:22]

Damn my life
Damn my eyes

[3:32]

Damn my eyes, well they should compromise
All hope and once beneath, you finally leave
Then I might as well be gone

[5:37]

Shine on forever
Shine on benevolent song

[5:47]

Shine down upon the broken
Shine on ‘til that you become one

[5:57]

Shine on forever
Shine on benevolent song

[6:07]

Shine down upon the sicker
Shine on ‘til that you become one

[6:17]

Divide and wither in our way
Divide and wither on our way

[6:27]

Shine down upon the many, light our way
Benevolent song

[6:47]

Breathe in you, you and
Breathe in you, you and
Breathe in you, you and
Breathe in you, you and
Breathe in you, young soul
As one survived
Under the day, in seasons

[7:07]

Silence leeches, and say your poison
Silence reaches, and stay out of my way

I'm pretty sure it's "shine until the two become one", not "shine on until you become one." I'll add in any more if i notice.

Could also possibly be "benevolent SON."

Which would make a lot of sense, if the subject of the speaker's affections is his son.

My version:

Here from the king's mountain view,
Here from the wild dream come true,
Feast like a sultan I do
On treasures and flesh, never few.

But I, I would wish it all away
If I thought I'd lose you just one day.

The devil and his had me down
In love with the dark side I'd found.
Dabbling all the way down
Up to my neck so to drown.

But you changed that all for me.
Lifted me up, turned me 'round
So I,
I,
I,
I...

I would,
I would,
I would,
Wish this all away...

Prayed like a father dusk to dawn,
Begged like a hooker all night long,
Tempted the devil with my song,
And got what I wanted all along.

But I,
And I would,
If I could,
And I would

Wish it away
Wish it away
Wish it all away
Wanna wish it all away
No pressure could hold sway
Or just a fine line
Kneeling away, my sinner.

So if I could I'd wish it all away
If I thought tomorrow, they'd take you away.
You're my peace of mind, my home
I said I'm just trying to hold on
One more day.

Dim my eyes.
Dim my eyes.

Dim my eyes if they should compromise
Or fall from what sin need you find within.
I might as well be gone.

Shine on forever
Shine on benevolent sun

Shine down upon the broken
Shine until the two become one

Shine on forever
Shine on benevolent sun

Shine on upon the sever
Shine until the two become one

Divided I'm withering away
Divided I wither away

Shine on upon the many, light our way
Benevolent sun

I thought the lyrics were shine on morning son. Like micheal son of the morning, a take on "O shining one, son of the morning!" from the bible, is it definately benevolent?

This song seems Faust like with Jambi the Genie as Satan granting wishes. Feel free to pick this apart.

When I first heard the song I thought they were saying Jam Bye Eye too, but then it didn't really make sense with the next lyrics "jam bye eye if they should compromise" ? then i figured it must have to do with eyes.

I just can't hear what you had put in there, but I could certainly be wrong, I just didn't see how that part in your lyrics made a sentence that made sense.

First off let me state by saying that I personally think this song is told from a few different viewpoints. One being Maynard and how he's fallen poison to the same evils that he preaches against, because like it or not, in his position, it's hard to be perfect.

I think the Shine on part has something to do with his mother telling him to shine Benevolent SON. Also at the end, I really think it's Silence leech and save your poison, silence leeches stay out of my way. This I think is a reference to the medical help his mother was tired of getting, she was ready to die, so yea. Just an idea. Here's what I think on the lyrics.

Jambi
Here from the kings mountain view, here from the wild dream come true
Feast like a sultan I do, on treasures and flesh never few
But I, I would wish it all away
If I thought I'd lose you just one day
The devil and his had me downs, in love with the dark side I've found
Dabbling all the way down, up to my neck soon to drown
But you changed all that for me, lifted me up turned me round
So I, I, I, I, I
I would, I would, I would
Wish this all away
Prayed like a martyr dusk to dawn
Begged like a hooker all night long
Tempted the devil with my song
And got what I wanted all along

But I, I would, if I could, I would
Wish it away
Wish it away
Wish it all away
Wanna wish it all away
No pressure could hold, sway
Or just a fine line, kneeling away my center

So if I could I'd wish it all away
If I thought tomorrow they'd take you away
You're my piece of mind, my all
I said I'm just trying to hold on one more day

Damn my eyes, damn my eyes
Damn my eyes if they should comprimise
or fall from what you need to find me then
I might as well be gone

Shine on forever
Shine on benevolent sun
Shine down upon the broken
Shine until the two become one
Shine on forever, Shine on benevolent sun
Shine on upon the severed
Shine until the two become one
Divided I'm withering away
Divided I'm withering away
Shin on upon the many, light our way
Benevolent sun

Breathe in union
Breathe in union
Breathe in union

So as one survive
another the day and season
Silence leech, and save your poison
Silence leech and stay out of my way

first damn makes so much more sense than dim
also... positive it's "justify my" and not "just a fine line"

Here from the king's mountain view
Here from the wild dream come true

I would
Wish it

And got what I wanted all along

But I
And I would
If I could
And I would

Wish it away
Wish it away
Wish it all away
Wanna wish it all away
No pressure could hold sway
Or justify my
Kneeling away, my sinner

So if I could I'd wish it all away
If I thought tomorrow, they'd take you away

Ummm, after close inspection of all the lyrics in this album.....I think Maynard really did find Jesus.
This. Is. Amazing.

No its satan, not Jesus. Shine on forever benevolent son = micheal son of the morning/ morning star. If you want more evidence he mentions Legion - the three daemons as a parody of the father the son and the holy ghost. On the surface its sounds like hes singing about Jesus, but think a lttle deeper and he isnt. :)

If you want more evidence that he hasnt found Jesus listen to the Aliester Crowley stuff on Intention.

so how does him telling the legion to shut up and get out of his way imply that he is worshipping satan? i don't think he's found jesus either, mind you, but just something higher. this is just an extension from 'reflections' imho.

oh and i agree with the guy that said it's justify vs just a fine line

ArizonaBay
04-22-2006, 02:23 PM
No i dont think hes worshipping Satan in a cheesy black metal sense. Its a reference to Satan as Baphomet its not like he hasnt referenced it before. "As above so below" on Lateralus in fact the lyrics of that album seem to be pretty obsessed with it (see Reflection aswell). Baphomet is seen as a fair judge, benevolent even, but his image is the Satan archetype.

From wikipedia:

"The goat on the frontispiece carries the sign of the pentagram on the forehead, with one point at the top, a symbol of light, his two hands forming the sign of hermetism, the one pointing up to the white moon of Chesed, the other pointing down to the black one of Geburah. This sign expresses the perfect harmony of mercy with justice. His one arm is female, the other male like the ones of the androgyn of Khunrath, the attributes of which we had to unite with those of our goat because he is one and the same symbol. The flame of intelligence shining between his horns is the magic light of the universal balance, the image of the soul elevated above matter, as the flame, whilst being tied to matter, shines above it. The ugly beast's head expresses the horror of the sinner, whose materially acting, solely responsible part has to bear the punishment exclusively; because the soul is insensitive according to its nature and can only suffer when it materializes. The rod standing instead of genitals symbolizes eternal life, the body covered with scales the water, the semi- circle above it the atmosphere, the feathers following above the volatile. Humanity is represented by the two breasts and the androgyn arms of this sphinx of the occult sciences."

Taking into account the lyrics from intention aswell, i think this is a reocurring theme.

Also see Chaos in connection with Thelma.

Damn my eyes if they should compromise
our [two syllable word] from what you need if I leave then
I might as well be gone. fulcrum is a possiblilty. he sings the part smoothly with no breaks up to that part, sounds like he starts with an A, but its hard to tell.

I'm new here, but here's my interpretation....most of what I've read I agree with...the rest is changed accordingly...

Here from the king's mountain view,
Here from the wild dream come true,
Feast like a sultan I do

But I, I would wish it all away
If I thought I'd lose you just one day.

The devil and his had me down
In love with the dark side I fell.

But you changed that all for me.
Lifted me up, turned me 'round
So I,

I would,
I would,
Wish this all away...

Prayed like a martyr, dusk till dawn,
Begged like a hooker all night long,
Tempted the devil with my song,
And got what I wanted all along.

But I,
And I would,
If I could,
And I would

Wish it away
Wish it away
Wish it all away
Wanna wish it all away
No pressure could hold sway
Or justify my
Kneeling away my sinner/center.

So if I could I'd wish it all away
If I thought tomorrow, they'd take you away.
You're my peace of mind, my home
I said I'm just trying to hold on
One more day.

Damn my eyes.
Damn my eyes.

Damn my eyes.
If they should compromise
Or fall from what you need to find me then, (This line is still unclear to me)
I might as well be gone.

Shine on forever
Shine on benevolent son/sun

Shine down upon the broken
Shine until the two become one

Shine on forever
Shine on benevolent son/sun

Shine on upon the severed
Shine until the two become one

Divided I'm withering away
Divided I wither away

Shine on upon the many, light our way
Benevolent son/sun

Breathe in union
Breathe in union
Breathe in union
Breathe in union
Breathe in union
So as one survive
Another day and season

Silence leech, and save your poison
Silence leech, and stay out of my way

(The last two lines are still unclear to me but this is the best interpretation i could find to fit)

I'm new here, but here's my interpretation....most of what I've read I agree with...the rest is changed accordingly...

Here from the king's mountain view,
Here from the wild dream come true,
Feast like a sultan I do
On treasures and flesh, never few.

But I, I would wish it all away
If I thought I'd lose you just one day.

The devil and his had me down
In love with the dark side I fell.
Dabbling all the way down
Up to my neck soon to drown.

But you changed that all for me.
Lifted me up, turned me 'round
So I,
I,
I,
I...

I would,
I would,
I would,
Wish this all away...

Prayed like a martyr, dusk till dawn,
Begged like a hooker all night long,
Tempted the devil with my song,

I think it's "Hid from the king's...
Hid from the wild dream..."

Considering "Here from..." doesn't make any sense.

And I'm getting "No prize you could hold [could hold] sway
or justify my kneeling away: my sentence"

And I get "Dim my eyes
Dim my eyes
Dim my eyes if they should
compromise a hope of
wanting the divine need then I might as well be gone"

...which I think makes some sense in the context of the meaning of the song.

And I think it's "sun". But I guess we won't know for sure until they post the lyrics on toolband?

"Divide and wither it away"

And the last two lines I get as:

"Silently just save your poison
Silently just stay out of my way."

He's not saying "Damn my eyes" or "Dim my eyes".... i'm pretty sure he's saying "Jambi eyes". When I first saw the track listing, I though Jambi was pronounced (Johm-bee). Apparently, it's pronounced (Jam-bye). Jambi eyes.

Here is my current best guess.

Here from the king's mountain view,
Here from the wild dream come true,
Feast like a sultan I do,
On treasures and flesh never few,

But I, I would, wish it, all away,
If I, thought I'd, lose you, just one day,

The Devil and his had me down,
In love with the dark side I'd found,
Dabbling all the way down,
Up to my neck soon to drown,

But you changed that all for me,
Lifted me up turned me round,
So I, I, I, I, I would, I would, I would wish this all away,
Prayed like a martyr/potter/father? dusk til dawn,
Beg like a hooker all night long,
Shattered?/sheltered?/shafted the devil with my song,
And got what I wanted all along.

But I, I would, If I could, I would
Wish it away, wish it away, wish it all away,
Wanna wish it all away,
No pressure could hold sway
Or justify my
Kneeling away, my sinner?/center

So if I could I'd wish it all away, if I thought tomorrow they'd take you away.

Your my piece of mind my home I said I'm just trying to hold on, one more day,
Damn my eyes,
Damn my eyes,
Damn my eyes if they should comprimise
Or fall from what you need to find me then
I might as well be gone

Shine on forever
Shine on benevolent sun
Shine down upon the broken
Shine until the two become one
Shine on forever, Shine on benevolent sun
Shine out upon the sinner shine until the two become one,

Divided withering away, divided withering away
Shine out upon the many, light our way
Benevolent sun

Breathe in union
Breathe in union
Breathe in union
Breathe in union

it is FELL open ya ears jesus christ oh mighty

in love with the darkness i found, dabbling all the way down

but

in love with the darkness i FELL, dabbling all the way down

The Devil and his had me down
In love with the dark side I'd found
Dabbling all the way down
Up to my neck soon to drown

He FOUND the dark side, and fell in love with it.

"In love with the dark side (that) I (have) found"

(That) and (have) are in parentheses because they're understood to be there in the context of the sentence, but aren't needed for it to make sense. There's a grammar lesson for you.

Besides, there's a definite "ow" sound in there, which goes along with (rhymes with) the rest of the stanza... "down", "FOUND", "down", "round"

so how does him telling the legion to shut up and get out of his way imply that he is worshipping satan? i don't think he's found jesus either, mind you, but just something higher. this is just an extension from 'reflections' imho.

I really think it's Shine on benevolent son. I think this may be his mother speaking to him. If you were to assume he is singing Silence leeches, save your poison. Silence leeches, stay out of my way you could assume the leeches are doctors. Save your poison, stay out of my way, it's time for me to die. This would make sense in the context of the story, because then he starts singing about how his mother is dead and needs her wings.

Well it could be "son", but no one is sure about the end yet. Assuming that he says "leeches" and then also assuming that "leeches" means doctors...I dunno... lots of assumption there.

Maybe he wrote the line so that it could be either "sun" or "son" though. I still like "sun", just because it says "shine down upon the many, light our way"... It just feels right to me.

[...]

Taking into account the lyrics from intention aswell, i think this is a reocurring theme.
hm...so i read the wiki exerpt as well as a tiny bit more from the original wiki entry and your post regarding a lateralus interpretation; i have to say that it's some interesting information and i do especially like your pasted smidgen that portrays baphomet as basically everything being in constant balance. i love the idea of neutrality in all things and any disturbance in one is countered by [here comes newton's lawsuit] an equal and opposite disturbance. it's a nice abstract idea and i've kinda clung onto this in some form since i saw 'o brother where art thou' and did some thinking. sounds dumb that i finally figured it out from a movie, but hey.

well ok back on track - i'm still not completely agreeing with you that this is what maynard is trying to reference in these pieces. i'll agree on lateralus possibly, but even then i thought he was more trying to exhibit that every boundary that ever existed for him was giving way. also i'm still not totally certain on jambi or intention, but honestly i don't think i care that much. i believe we're both bringing in our own biases here and arguing to fit our beliefs maybe so let's just leave it at that. you already said it wasn't the 'cheesy black metal satan' so that's good enough for me. haha.

I have to say that the interpretation has nothing to do with my personal beliefs. It was just semi informed speculation based on some of the themes on Lateralus. Despite Maynards denial in that recently posted interview, Tool do frequently reference the occult (again listen to intention). However re-reading the lyrics to this particular song im now not certain this is about that, i think it may be about his mum again, although i have no idea what this two become one thing is i always thought it was the Crowley "From all one" (misquote) thing. Most of the time though Tools references to Thelmic Law, Hermeticism, and Gnostism in various forms are tongue in cheek, because they clearly dont believe in dogma of any kind.

LOL. I think this is directed at me. Haha... where to begin?

1) Um... nice post.

2) Coining a term by merging existing words together (like Aenema) is nothing new and has nothing at all to do with grammar... or being able to form a sentence that works.

3) If you actually read my post, you'll see that I never said that the lyrics are ALWAYS grammatically correct. Someone posted that "In love with the dark side I found" could not be right because it made no sense. I was merely showing that it did make sense, and why it made sense.

4) Wow... nice post.

"damn my eyes" is not a very common saying in the US, but it's very common in the UK and Ireland especially.. it's used in a variety of ways but the way i've heard it used most often is like "damn my eyes if i'm lying" or "oy, ye bastid, where've ya been, damn yer eyes!"

in the context of this song he seems to be saying that he should be struck blind if he fails to be what his son needs him to be, namely a good father. or that's my take on it anyway.

"jambi eyes" is just....... no.

I am pretty sure that it is Shine on benevolent sun. In the context that this song talks about the religious worship of a sun god. This is considering Jambi from the geographical perspective that they are this native people years ago praying to the sun. Shine on benevolent sun makes a hell of a lot more sense than song or sun. The devil is night time and the part where he says:

But you changed that all for me.
Lifted me up, turned me 'round

reminds me of sunflowers rising and turning to face the sun.

I could be talking out of my ass but i really think this song is referring to worship of a sun god.

IT's both sun and son it's a play on words. and I do hear jambi I the first time he says it but it changes into damn my eyes. there's deffinatly a "j" sond to it at the beginning, also a play on the words.

Here from the king’s mountain view
Here from the wild dream come true

Feast like a sultan, I do
On treasures and flesh never few

But I

Wish it
All, away
If I
Thought I’d
Lose you
Just one day

Dabbling all the way down
Up to my neck soon to drown

But you changed that all for me
Lifted me up turn me round

So I
I
I
I

I would
I would
I would
Wish
This
All
Ah-way

Prayed like a martyr dusk to dawn
Beg like a hooker all night long

Shout to the devil with my song
And got what I wanted all along

But I
And I would
If I could
I would

Wish it away
Wish it away
Wish it all away
Wanna wish it all away
No pressure could hold sway
Or just a fine line
Kneeling away, my sinner

So if I could I’d wish it all away
If I thought tomorrow, they'd take you away

You’re my piece of mind, my own
I said I’m just trying to hold on
One more day

Damn my eyes
Damn my eyes

Damn my eyes, well they should compromise
All hope from what you need to find me
Then I might as well be gone

Shine on forever
Shine on benevolant sun/son

Shine down upon the broken
Shine on ‘til the two become one

Shine on forever
Shine on benevolant sun/son

Shine down upon the severed
Shine on 'til the two become one

Divide and wither in our way
Divide and wither on our way

Shine down upon the many, light our way
Benevolent sun/son

Breathe in union
Breathe in union
Breathe in union
Breathe in union
Breathe in union
So as one
Survive another day and season

Silently, just say your poison
Silently, just stay out of my way

Think of it like... "The Devil and his (minions) had me down." I think that's what Maynard was going for... the "minions" being excluded from the sentence, but understood to be there.

As for "if I leave then I might as well be gone." ... it just doesn't make much sense. I know that's what it sounds like he's saying, but I think we're missing something there. Think about it, if he leaves, then he WILL be gone. It's a pointless statement.

Same for "Silence legion, say your poison." or any variation of that. Why tell someone to be silent, and then immediately tell them to say something? Makes no sense.

Of course, I don't have any better suggestions yet, but I just thought I'd bring that up.

i hear "hand me downs" too.

So explain the meaning... if that's what you hear.

I clearly hear "...had me down" and it has meaning to back it up. It fits in the context of the sentence as well as the full song.

The last two lines are so debatable, and I don't think we'll really know for sure until the official lyrics come out, but what about...

"Silent leech and stay your poison.
Silently just stay out of my way"

I don't remember seeing "stay your poison" suggested. I think it makes more sense than "say your poison"... especially since he's telling them to also be silent.
"Stay your poison"... as in... cease or hold back your poison.

well i was listening earlier and i also heard how it could be "had me down"..

but the reason "hand-me-downs" makes sense to me is sort of convoluted.. when lucifer was cast out of heaven, he was given dominion over the earth.. that is until man was created.. so in essence, the world and everything in it is the devil's hand-me-downs..

but you're right it doesn't make much sense in context..

Here from a King's mountain view.
Here from the wild dream come true.
Feast like a sultan, I do.
On Treasures and flesh never few.
But I, I would, wish it all away
if I thought I'd lose you just one day.

The Devil and his, had me down.
In love with the Dark Side I'd found.
Dabblin all the way down.
up to my neck soon to drown.

But you changed that all for me.
Lifted me up turned me round.
So I, I, I, I...I would, I would, I would
Wish. This. All. Away.

Brave like a martyr dusk to dawn,
Beg like a hooker all night long,
Shout to the devil with my song
and got what I wanted all along.
But I, I would, if I could, I would
wish it away, wish it away, wish it all away
wanna wish it all away
no possible hold sway or just abide my
kneel and await my sentence

So if I could I'd wish it all away
if I thought tomorrow they'd take you away
You're my peace of mind, my own mahset (?)
I'm just tryin to hold on one more day.
Dim my eyes, dim my eyes, dim my eyes and vision,
compromise, the fulcrum...want and need
If I kneel then, I might as well be gone.

Shine on forever, Shine on Benevolent sun,
Shine down upon the broken, shine down until the two become one.
Shine on forever, Shine on Benevolent sun,
Shine on the cold and severed, shine down until the two become one.
Divided and withering away. (x2)
Shine down upon the many, light a way, benevolent sun.
Breathe in union (x6)

Not even gonna try to guess on last few lines. I'm hearing a little of everything there.

it would make less sense to me, because of the following:

1) "jambi eyes" doesn't mean anything.. as i said elsewhere, there's no connection with the myths about that indonesian place people keep linking to..

2) as someone who loves language and pays attention to the little intricacies of pronunciation, i don't think "jambi" is pronounced with the long i sound required to make it fit with the vocals.. it would be awkward and weird to pronounce it that way.

3) both "damn my eyes" and (even though i don't think this is the correct line) "dim my eyes" make sense to a certain extent.. at least they MEAN something.

he says " shattered the devil with my song "

shout at the devil with my song

Several possibilities for next line:

Pray like a potter does do dawn (hecne you need sun to dry clay, so pray for thesun to come back the next day)
Beg like a hooker all night long

or

Pray like a martyr dusk to dawn......
Beg like.....

Im leaning towards the potter one.... just what i hear more often than other possibilities.... what ya think?

Good lord. There's absolutely no pronunciation difference between "sun" and "son." It could be both at the same time... or one of them the first time, and the other in the next line. Arguing about it is pointless.

IcaLynn
09-15-2006, 08:27 AM
Just a thought: "malevolent sun"?

malevolent means evil, basically.

he wants everything to end and the rising son/sun means that the cycle won't end. the cycle is still going and if you think about it in a nonreligious way, its almost a suicide note.

i imagine him in a depression living out one more night, enjoying it and looking for solace in what he is doing. suicide is a very self-righteous act. i can picture him looking over a town in the country and musing on how people choose to live this life. the sun is evil because it burns him and awakens others from their slumber to work. he wants to close his eyes and never see the sun again. he wants to get to heaven or whatever after life there maybe. he wants to look down on them as a king again. he had a perfect life until someone hurt him and he decides that no life would be better than his new one. he's happy with his decision and he has few or no regrets. he still sees beauty, but that isnt enough for him.

the sun comes up, he takes one last look upon the land, remembers his lost love and... his life just slips away...

i feel sorry for him.

IcaLynn

if you look at it from a religious point of view, it could be about the Pope's death. (was that last year or the year before?)
maynard isnt exactly a fan of religion and as long as there are beliefs, there will never be peace. maynard could be saying that give up everything to end the holy war/world war?
he wants total destruction of everything. if there is nothing, could there really be violece?

Syrus,
I like your "musical" explanation! I have felt this song is about his son ever since I first heard it and the feel of the song does have a huge impact. Part of my reasoning comes from the fact that this song expresses so much of what I feel for my children.
3d says:
"That also brings me to the line... "you changed that all for me... lifted me up and turned me 'round." I am assuming you think it's Devo's birth that changed Maynard's ways... (at least that's how I used to perceive it) "Lifted me up" has a spiritual connotation to it. His mom lifting him up.. lifting his spirit up. Sure, a birth of a child can be said to have some sort of religious experience as well... but when you then consider he says "turned me 'round" coupled with lifted me up... it has the weight of something more than an instantaneous change"

Everyone has different experiences and if you have kids, 3d, I am not trying to tell you how you should feel, however, for me – children are something more than an instantaneous change. Nothing in life prepared me for the depth and level of the changes I have went through and continue to go through each and every day. I wasn't lifted up and turned around religiously, I was lifted up from the life I lived and sent down a totally different path in life. Maybe it is hard for people to acknowledge the power of a father/child relationship and that it is very much as strong and important and powerful as the mother/child relationship.

(hey, on the lyric issue, even though I would swear he is saying Jambi on the CD, it really didn't sound like it live after all.)
