The album leak is a hoax!

Hey everyone, I've just recently come across this information through various legitimate sources from the rumor mill, and rest assured this latest leak scare is a decoy album.

No, it is not an album produced by earshot or Chevelle, but a cleverly devised ruse by the members of Tool themselves. After having listened to select tracks, it occured to me that many of them had blatant similarities to past tracks. One track, for instance, is reminiscent of Pushit Live, and one of the filler tracks will remind listeners from a certain filler track on AEnima.

I can't say much else except for the fact that this is all leftover material from past recordings and recent recordings that were never used on their past and upcoming releases. The real album, with the real single, and the REAL album title and cover art will be released on May 2nd, while the decoy, cleverly made as it was, will be placed right next to Ten Thousand Fists on store shelves.

Don't believe it's fake? Maynard is particularly quiet on this decoy, barely making himself heard on many tracks, and with a talent like Maynard why wouldn't you utilize him? Even the lyrics themselves seem to be a rather ingenius joke.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to watch things die and accuse people of being high.

think about it, the leak said (advance), tool didn't send any adcance copies, they only would of done this if they wanted it leaked.

Having a decoy album would be classic, and would be very 'tool'. I think that's the reason people are still clinging to this idea. They want tool to do something out of the ordinary again, and this would go down in music history as an amazing prank. I just don't think it's the case. I'm going to focus on the music in front of me right now. If come may 1st it turns out to be a different album, then I'll focus on that one then.

Well, the album could still be called 10k Days (which it IS), still have the same tracklisting and track lengths whilst having the 'real songs' on it with Vicarious still being the real single.

After listening to the album more though i'm more convinced it's real and happier with it being real than I was an hour ago.....

(http://www.last.fm/group/Tool/journal&action=display&entryid=80859) The article notes that this particular review was added to the toolnavy forums sometime in Feburary, but with all the traffic around here lately, it's probably been bumped back quite a few pages.

From his descriptions, it looks like the album he heard at that session is the same one that's shown up on the torrent trackers.

Rosetta Stoned = Remix of Third Eye.

You believe me don't you? Please believe what I just said! Well, then listen to the sound at 2:54, tell me that isn't the sound they used in Third Eye (at least I think it was from that song, it's the scratching sound).

Take a listen at 4:11, that guitar riff is basically pulled straight from Third Eye too.

Also, there's the riff at 6:01, more well done remixes of the Third Eye riffs.
