well the wang center is all the theater group... i saw dream theater there and they dont have the past scedule for dt on it... so it must be a seperate group that rents it out.

EDIT: on the dreamtheater ticket it says that i went to the orpheum and not the wang center. Judging by pictures its the same place.

Front Row Tickets my ass. Been to amny of shows at the Orpheum, and there's no way I would pay $135/ticket(their cheapest) to sit in the back of the balcony for anyone. $415 for 11th row is their closest seat. Keep it, i'll give ticketmaster a try on Saturday, thank you very much.

In other news, I'm a total newb at this whole fighting-for-tix thing, and this tiny venue is going to be sold out in 2 minutes. Can any veterans give me advice on how to get the best seats at box price? Do I camp out at the Orpheum? Do I have a ticket-buying party with lots of computers and phones in one room? I would LOVE LOVE LOVE good seats to this.

edit: I'm getting a bunch of real fans together, either to go camp at the Orpheum or bombard Ticketmaster on Saturday. If we manage to get more tix than we have people, I'll post it in the swap forum.

i live less than a mile from the Orpheum and just went there to see if people were camping out over night and for those of you who are worrying about missing out on tickets....

well STOP, because they are not allowing people to stay overnight nor are they allowing people to start forming lines before 9am tomorrow. instead, they will place everyone who gets there after 9am in a lottery and draw #s for priority sales, and yes ticket limit is two per person.

Ticketmaster would probably end up cancelling both orders. just stick to the two ticket limit. you can only buy two tickets. they have ways of finding out if you ordered more, and they always do.

honestly, any seat in the place is pretty good. i saw NIN there last year and i was the first row in the balcony...some of the best seats i've had for any show. so it doesnt really matter where you're sitting.

yea i got screwed by TM for Pearl Jam in Hartford a couple weeks ago. pulled up 5th row center, was told they couldnt process my order (only had one window open with TM.com in it). then i pulled up section 600 row KK which isnt too bad, so i ordered it. i check my status and i had section 800 Row FFF. all the way on the right side. i called and made them cancel my order. i hate TM.com with a passion.


oh and it looks like the reason the tickets went up in price is because i think they included some service fees in the price now. i only got charged an extra $6 over face for the ticket.

I need 1 or 2 tickets I'll take anything at this point. Sold out in 5seconds. My friend was trying to get them I was at work and I call him on break and almost punched a wall. TM didn't crap out on him he was literally constantly refreshing and on one refresh that took 10sec it went from not being on sale to onsale he quickly selects 2 ticekts and go and it comes up sold out. I'm gonna go no matter what (even if by myself) but god damnit $200 is retarded. $750 for front row!? I don't have experience with eBay for concerts...do the prices usually drop come closer to concert time because they realize nobody will pay $750 or will people actually spend that?

Why aren't there better measures in place to stop scalpers. Its rediculous. We have so much shit about downloading music/movies/etc. and 8 year olds getting charged w/ downloading disney volume 3 while the real criminals are doing what is explicitly illegal in every fucking state and making a killing off of it. I dunno I guess it makes them available though. If 3800 ppl (or w/e) actually got tickets that actually wanted to go then I guess I'd have 0 chance of going instead of a high priced opportunity. Ugh.

I have seen MULTIPLE shows at the Orpheum. What would you like to know about it? It is a very old venue, but most of the seats under the balcony aren't that bad. I had obstructed view last month and it was still pretty good. But for $1K a ticket I better get a Scarface pile and blow job ; )

I paid $170 for this thing and the transaction went through fine and I recieved the ticket through e-mail. I got Balc LC Row V seat 107 which is a seat that exists so that seems legit. (i immediately was thinking maybe he faked a ticket that doesn't exist...) Does anybody know if there are identifying factors on the ticket that could prove if its real? Like some kind of show PIN number? I see a bunch of numbers but don't know what they mean. Help much appreciated

MJR, if it's a ticketmaster ticket I'd call them and ask to verify a ticket purchased through a broker. It could be he's selling multiple copies or something - if so, you'd better hope you're the first copy through the door or it won't scan.

I took the phone # out but yeah. I guess I have no way of confirming he didn't sell it multiple times but it seems like he didn't. He doesn't seem like a normal ticket broker though, although his supposed past ebay account had a lot of sells with all positive feedback. the good thing about the orpheum is that its like 100 yards from the boston common. if you've never been on the common its fuckin huge, so you have plenty of places to burn.

What are the odds there's a fan out there with an extra ticket to sell?

I've tried to pull every string I can to get into this show and I'm coming up with nothing.

The last time I saw these guys was in Lowel in 2002, right before Halloween. During 'Parabola' Maynard's stripped down to his jockeys with his back to the crowd and he's acting like he's having an out of body experience ... like he's floating. Sick.. I've seen these guys almost a dozen times since '95, I'd hate to miss them this time around.

I imagine the vultures will be on Tremont street trying to sell (Short of robbing you at gunpoint)tickets. Look for guys that look like they're from "Southie" or Charlsetown. Toronto's start time was 8:15, as I've seen on other show's threads quarter past 8 has been the average, except last week a show started at 8:50 'cause of technical difficulties I believe

Im still looking for 2 tickets if anyone has anything to offer or even any last minute ticket ideas. Im doing everything I can to find some(excluding paying 700bucks on flea bay). I may look new here, but thats because i got a new IP and have no idea what the old email and password was that I used. But regardless, I made it back. Im in Vermont, and a stay at home dad now. This would be a nice break for me. If anyone can help me out, PLEASE find a way to let me know. I know its last minute, but I just cant give up on this dream, not until its finally over. I cant actually go to the box office, thats out, Im a litttle far away for that. Thanks in advance for any help. It'll be appreciated more than you know.

Go to the Beantown Pub before the show. If you're looking at the Orpheum, Suffolk Law is on your left, then to the left of that, you'll see the Pub. I work in the area, and I can say that the Beantown is the best option pre-show. Good eats, a killer *networked* jukebox (if you've never seen one, you gotta check it out....basically, you can search for ANY song, and it finds it online and plays it) and of course, drinks.
I'm going solo, so I hope to see some of you there!

I'm sitting 5th row floor seats 7&8 in fron of Danny and Justin,.... I'll be wearing a a "coroners office" shirt and I'll be with a hot little blonde chick,. It'll be easy to recognize me,....... I'll be the one that has a raging errection and a confused look on my face because I'm so close to the stage. I can't stress enough how careful you need to be regaurding counterfeit tix. Make sure you only buy "hard tix" if you buy from the scalpers.
There is a liquor store around the corner on Winter Street for those who chose to drink in the commons. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's going to be slow dancing with a vodka bottle in public before the show. It's going to be an amazing night.......be good ,....if you can't be good,..just don't get caught.

i haven't been in boston since i was alot younger and didnt remember any of it, but we got here yesterday and explored around....this city is great!!! we walked passed the orpheum and i had a huge smile on my face.

i can't believe its tonight!!!.... only a few hours....

i know its probably been said before, but the box office usually relesaes tix right before the show, so show up to the venue as soon as you can and stand in line. and you'll only have to pay face value unlike some of us suckers.

but, it is tonight! and will no doubt be worth every penny spent! my friend and i are probably going to hit up the beantown pub preshow (around 4:30ish). we'll be the two most excited women in the bar. aka - two short chicks, one with blond hair, and another with a big fro of curly brown hair! look for us! we'll be looking for you!
