Will ticketmaster sell these tickets saturday online? I'm thinking about flying to this show or the Vegas show depending on which one I can get tickets too. Maybe even the Kansas City show as a last resort.

Anybody have any idea how much tickets will cost?

nexus11313
04-17-2006, 06:16 PM
Based on the venue and the costs of other shows I would guess that tickets are gonna be $50-$65 each. As I stated in another thread (before it was deleted) I think midwestern TDN's should band together and buy as many tickets as possible to this show and sell (at face value) any unused or extras to fellow fans here on the boards. I'm going to try and purchase as many as I can saturday morning, all and any tickets above the 2 that I'll be using will be made available for sale on here. I hope others will do the same so we can keep as many fans in and keep the scalpers out.

amitface
04-17-2006, 06:54 PM
Isn't it harder to get tickets if you buy a lot at a time?

Ravager61
04-17-2006, 07:02 PM
Yeah, you specify how many to search for and if it cant find that many together, it returns none found.

Anyone check out this venue's website? The place looks pretty awsome. Hopefully tickets won't be too much...

http://www.auditoriumtheatre.org/wb/

I'm going to call them tomorrow to make sure they're going to sell the tickets from the boxoffice (per mike tyson's heads up) and post here letting you guys know.

Anyone else gonna be there the minute they go on sale? I'm already making plans for Saturday.

hey Ocelot199. so when it says that the tickets go onsale at 11am 04/22 does that mean they go onsale at the box office and online or just one or the other? i've actually never gotten tickets from a box office so yeah. lemme know. because if the best way to go about getting tickets is to go to the venue i'll be there. and yeah, ive been there for a dylan show. its a pretty nice place if you have decent seats.

I'm pretty sure they go on sale at the same time at both the box office and ticketmaster. I'm gonna call this place tomorrow to see what their hours are and how much the tickets are (and all that stuff). I'll post here to let you know tomorrow sometime.

Box office or Ticketmaster?
Box office, definately. You can take the metro right into downtown, and the venue is only about 4 blocks away... easy to walk it.

i am extremely excited to catch this show... i've never caught tool live via smaller than arena sized venue and it is a must. i will be really disappointed if tickets are really that hard to get ahold of. anyone have a venue size? please if it comes down to extra tickets i will possibly have some and would also appreciate anyone who has extras helping me out if for any reason they are sold out at the turn of 11am central time.

i dont feed on tragedy,

Thanks for the heads up Ocelot...I'm interested to see just how much they'll be. The last time I was in Chicago I think I may have accidently come across this Theatre while traveling down Michigan Ave. near Grant/Mill. Park. I've only been to Chicago a hand full of times, can anyone tell me if this sounds correct and has anyone seen any shows there before?

I just realized that I've actually been to this theatre before, just a month ago for a Colombia College performance. It is an amazing theatre, the acoustics are probably the best I've ever heard.

The place is kind of small though compared to big arenas...tickets will go fast for sure. (Keeps fingers crossed)

I might just camp out. If not it may be a 6am morning. I wonder how fast t-master will sell, as opposed to the box office. I'd hate to think of being 7th in line and getting shafted out of tickets because of online sales.

A lot of other people from other shows are trying to get as many tickets as possible, and then distributing the rest to the people who don't get any, so we don't have to deal with scalpers. Anyone else interested?

I am going to try to buy two tickets from a Ticketmaster booth in FL, and I am having a friend from Chicago attempt Ticketmaster online. I'll try to see if I can get my older brother to get some as well.

If luck is on our side, I am willing to help out those in need. And if not, I wouldn't mind being helped out as well ;)...

Discuss.

(I live in Florida, but I will be in Chicago that weekend. I am up for mailing tickets and using Paypal, etc)

I am in total agreement. I will try to get as many as I can also and post with extra. The cool thing about the last show at the Riviera was that all people were the die hard fans. No bullshit punks. If I get extra, I'll post on Monday---Good Luck

Hey guys! I'll be glued to the computer saturday hoping to get them. I saw their last 2 shows here but me and my buds never got a hold of the RIV tickets. So this time i wanna see them in a small venue. Im up for available tickets too like people posted eariler, i think its a good idea. I know the feeling of wanting die hard tool fans only to be at this show. There are a couple people i know that are talking about going but i know to them it'll be like seeing blink 182 or some crap like that. So im not even getting hooked up with them. I would rather see them sleep in (oops i forgot to call ya LOL)and someone deserving on here getting them. BTW, i emailed q101 about a ticket limit and they dont know, said to look on ticketmaster. Not there though. Does anyone know if there is a limit?

I read that it was 8, but at $67 each I'd be surprised if many people were looking for that many. As for buying as many possible for sale on the board...I couldn't agree more. I'm gonna try and get as many as posssible to help those who can't get tickets, I just hope others do the same.

Ocelot199

I called the venue a few hours ago, but they have extremely shitty hours, so no one answered. I got to talk to an annoying recording instead... It said that usually their box office isn't open on Saturdays, unless theres a special event. They also don't have Tool listed either on their webcalendar or on their automated system.

I'll call again tomorrow to see if I can actually talk to a person.

I've seen pictures of the venue, but will it be entirely seated? If so, that is awesome. If not, maybe more tickets will be available.

And for those wondering: The Auditorium Theatre has a total capacity of 3,929 seats, although for many productions only the main floor and first balcony seats are sold.

I'll be trying to for the 8 ticket limit at the Roosevelt box office. If I get them, I'll have 4 or 5 extra for face value. I'd expect you guys to do the same if you get lucky.

When APC sold out a few years back, I bought tickets on eBay for cheaper than face value, a few days before the show. It was quite amazing.

But cross your fingers everyone. It's an expensive show, so like slicknick said, only hardcore fans like us will want to go.

Just another question. What's the ticketmaster process online?

I have an account. Refresh (slowly) till it goes on sale, select Best Available, Find tickets. Do they get reserved at that point for a few minutes, or what?

I went to a music store here in my city with a ticketmaster computer for radiohead a couple years ago and was in the 'pit' with 60,000 people behind me. Anyone know if its better to go to a ticketmaster 'dealer' like a record store as opposed to online with my broadband? This will be my sixth time seeing this amazing band ... greatest fucking shows I've ever seen. We're all in for an amazing time! Also, if ticketmaster shits out, I'd be willing to pay muxh extra for anone who has them!!! They are like gods to me! Bring it Maynard!!!!

I had luck getting APC tickets for their small venue show in Chicago by going to a ticketmaster outlet at a record store in a somewhat obscure neighborhood in Chicago. I was second in line, that is I was number 2 or 2. I would suggest trying to find an out of the way ticketmaster outlet. This particular store, Coconuts, has closed. Those of you going downtown might want to split up and go to the Auditorium and also Tower records on Wabash, which I think has a ticketmaster outlet(you should double check on that, also check on their store hours...).

blair posted at the toolband website that they were not going to have an internet presale. i bougth 4 tix today (orchestra level row L) from a broker. does that make me an asshole? no, just really want to see this show. also, there are like 4-5 other major concerts going on sale tormorrow around the same time. whether or not you like bon jovi, there are like 10 million more bj fans and they will only get in the way when it comes to trying to buy tix from ticketmaster. anyways, i asked 'how do you know what row these tix are in, if they haven't gone on sale yet?' he said they were obtained through a fan club presale. either way, i'll be sitting pretty on the main floor. no mosh pit. no assholes elbowing each other. no mother fucking crowd surfing dickheads. i can relax and enjoy the concert in peace. i am an old man and my back hurts.

good luck with t-master. if not, cough up some dough for the licensed scalpers.

From the ticketmaster site:

Additional Information:
Please note that a TicketFast delay will be imposed on this event for a minimum of 72 hours, in order to enforce the 2 ticket limit.

So it looks like there's a two ticket limit? What the hell is a TicketFast delay?? Is this a good thing? Will this increase chances of getting tickets? I dunno, but I'm gonna try. If I don't get any I'd love to set up something if anyone gets ahold of extra tickets.

"said they were obtained through a fan club presale."

and you believed him? I'm sure they buy the tickets along with everyonen else. Maybe they have a special connection with ticketmaster, or they know someone that works there. Either way, that must have been expensive. And although Tool is a great live band, I don't know if I'd be willing to pay that much. 66 dollars is pushing it. Anyways, people shouldn't sell their tickets for more than face value.

Ticketfast is where they basically email you the tickets and you print them out. So the delay is being implemented so they make sure that they enforce their policy of 2 tickets per name, address, credit card, ect ... This should make tickets available for more buyers, but if it actually takes 72 hours to release tickets bought on Saturday ... F5 for 3 days ...

PPL WILLING TO PAY OVER PRICE - because apparently thats the only option
obviously it sucks having to do it and it would have been nice if tool would have played some bigger venues. BUT HERE IS YOUR RESOLUTION. GO TO STUBHUB NOW, you will be paying over 200 per ticket but you will get to see the show, so if you have the extra money and this is an invaluable, priority experience for you as it is for me, then go there to get your tix, atleast they gurantee them and fedex 2 day versus the bullshit many will put up w/ on ebay. but you better go quick.

anyone w/ balc 1 row l or close hit me up as that is where i will be sitting w/ my 3 days worth of work ticket.

I was hitting refresh constantly with a 7mps connection. As soon as the ticket options appeared, I got through the secret word quickly and tickets were already gone. I swear it wasn't even 11:01 yet.

The ebay prices right now are ridiculous. Unless of course you're ridiculously rich. I guess it doesn't hurt to ask, but if anyone has even 1 extra ticket to unload, even if it's at the last minute (like 2 hours before the show), I will give my left testicle. Sorry, but the right is mine to keep.

It's pretty pointless to ask on here anyway because I bet no one has "extra" tickets that they want to sell, at this point.

look, people aren't gonna come in here and sell to poeple out of sympathy, or who has the best sob story. they will go for who offers most. frankly, i can't monetarily afford it, but mentally, and spiritually, i can't afford to miss it. that's the dilemna. i tried to buy for 2 diff. shows online at diff. times, right at the 'go' buzzer and got denied.

i'd just like to add: fuck scalpers. fucking dirtbags. cocksuckers. they take tickets from loving fans with the only intent of selling them back at 6 fold the price the paid. that's gotta be the highest profit return of any saleable item in the world. and the fact is, with tool in such high demand, we all got raped, we got proper fuct by the scalpers or brokers or whatever the fuck u call the dicks that make a business out of fucking people that love the music and want to enjoy it.

lol...i hate Q101, and as a result, i didn't listen to the radio that day. i drove all the way to ISU, stopped at jimmy johns for a sandwich, and picked up the Daily Vidette (school newspaper; semi-proud alumni), with the headline 'TOOL SHOW CANCELLED'. at least it was only a 2 hour drive there.

So here's the deal. The theater released a block of tickets to ticketmaster, a block to the promoters/production, and kept a block for themselves. The one's that sold at the box office were NOT the one's selling at ticketmaster.

Even after the place seems sold out, don't give up. I needed 3 tickets total, which is tough with a 2 ticket limit. I managed to pick up the first pair online almost instantly at 11:00am. We got the 3rd ticket also online at 11:45am after being told there was no more tickets about a couple hundred times. They apparently released another batch of limited view tickets well after everything else was gone.

yeah, the MAIN reason(s) i was willing to pay $185 was because this venue is f'n amazing. i read the history (over 100 years old), read about the perfect acoustical design, i looked at the pictures, and came to the conclusion that this could be the best concert i ever have a chance to see, so f' it. this memory will be tattooed on my brain. only other band i would consider doing this 4 would be radiohead...but that's just me.

I just got back from Chicago... got there to stand in line just after 9 and stood around waiting. Met a few people who post here too.

I got so screwed. I was at the counter, talking to this fucking retard who was going as slow as he possibly could as he looked for tickets, and they sold out. The four people in line before me went to the other window and got tickets, and I got nothing.

You have no idea how pissed I am. My friend ended up with 2 tickets, so I might be able to talk her into letting me go... hopefully.

The venue must have held a bunch or something so they wouldn't be sucked up on ticketmaster.

Like I said, people were getting tickets up until I got to the booth and they sold out.

ps don't use ebay, go to stubhub, they gurantee your tickets and are currently cheaper than ebay. $200 and some change will get you a decent balcony 1 or 2 still i think -- 300 and you'll get good balcony 1, which is what i got for 230 right when they started showing up there.
