Doesn't it seem like the opening to Vicarious seems cut off?
Maybe it's just me, but the song just seems to jump right into it. I know the leak isn't official, so maybe it's incomplete.

well its no grudge...but i fucking love the opening sequence. the bells are just great. reminds of sigur ros in a weird way.

I'm sure it is right where it needs to be. After hearing all the shit leaks leading up to this, then finally hearing how awesome Vicarious is, I'd think no one would question Tool ever again.

I think I see where you're coming from. Might be the same reason I think it doesn't make the best first track ..

but we'll see when the album comes out, right?

if you've ever downloaded a bootleg from the 2002 legs of the lateralus tour, odds are that you've heard those 'bells.'

danny messed with them at the shows sometimes between songs.....mostly right before schism though.

and to answer the thread poster, they break loose on the secondary beat of the measure. something only they (and a few other bands) can do, working with odd time signatures and all.

i'm hoping we hear more 'fludge'-like mixes, song into song flawlessly live. i think a good couple of songs could lead into this, especially the grudge, and parts of schism could transfer well, i just hope they experiment some more!!!
