I accidentally stumbled upon this on google. Maybe that Doom 3 "leak" actually is a Tool song? I'm probably missing somethign and I'm totally wrong so this is sort of a pointless thread... so mods feel free to delete it...

Adam was asked to do a song for Doom 3 but he said no. The only reason people think Tool did it is cause some one asked Trent Reznor and his answer was 'I dunno, maybe Tool?' Doesn't mean it was Tool. I read that on tool band, i'll try to find it...

EMAIL SUBJECT: DOOM III MUSIC BY TWEAKER
Just to get it straight, the theme song to Doom III was done by Chris Vrenna of NIN fame, under the name tweaker. Trent Reznor was meant to do the music but pulled out for some reason and left Chris Vrenna to do it. As to where the rumour started, that can be put down to the nin.com website, asked by a fan about the whole DOOM III soundtrack thing, Trent jokes at the end that he 'doesn't know who did the music, maybe tool.'

incidentally, i'm playing doom3 at the moment and coincidentally there is a company called 'Vicarious Systems' associated with the making of the game. As the game loads it comes up with their splash logo. - quite a coincidence i think.
