Not sure what it is, but god damn it's great. After getting a couple of beers in me, man I'm becoming convinced. There are 2 different versions, or it's one version but seperate parts. One with vocs and not the guitar buildup, one without vocs but really nice guitar buildup. I don't have the links - I guess I'll dig em out of my browser and do some pm'ing. I really think this may be it guys - keep in mind it's only like 20 seconds.

Ok I have no idea if it is or isn't. It is, however, the best "leak" I've heard yet. And keep in mind this definitely sounds like 2 parts or tracks of a mix. It's broken up, not complete. It is a differently produced album. We've all heard it's much different. It's guitar dominant. Listen to both clips and try and imagine them put together. And the bass does suck, escept on the longer version, it starts mixing sweet as hell - if you didn't hear the longer version with the dynamic buildup, don't judge it yet. Because those last couple bars definitely sound Tool. I could just simply see this being their "new sound". I dunno, we will see. It's gonna be different though, it's Barresi'ised and it's been 5 years, so if it doesn't sound like Aenema or Lateralus, don't get your panties in a wad.

One other thing - having read the guitar world article very closely. It does sound like a volume control pedal's being used on the longer one with the buildup. That is another reason why I am so enthusiastic.

I'm looking at those two files, (go ahead, call me a geek), and just judging by the 'shape' of the first riff in each, it seems that they coencide. So I lined them up, and the guitar playing strangely matches the so-called singing of MJK.
I tried playing them in order, but it didn't work very well, you can chop off pieces and make it sound nice, but it doesn't fit as well as the overlap. I'm making an overlapped file, and if anyone wants it I guess they can PM me?
