04-06-2006, 06:37 PM
I as well found that newsletter bogus. Less than a month to go, and we hear about Blair's travels again? WOW. Tool's website has always sucked for as long as I can remember, there's never any real information on there. Just random crap about other bands. Blair needs fired. Get a fucking myspace account dude, and leave the TOOL site for TOOL news. There was what, a small tiny hint of relevance in that entire rant about rocks?

SomethingSpecial
04-06-2006, 06:38 PM

I don't understand why Blair thinks we care at all about an extremely detailed description of some trip him and Camella took.

Then again, I only skimmed the newsletter, and maybe I'm missing the point. Was there anything substantive or actually ABOUT the band in there?

who wrote "tool 10,000 days" on the big rock
who knows. But it was ironic, no? He mentions in the post that tweekers and pretty much losers had defaced the once "magnificant" rock. And then he (or at least someone who accompanied him on his gay trip) joins in on the defacing. Yeah I know it's just a rock, but that rock meant something to someone, or something like that.

AHHHHHHHHHH I HATE BLAIR

Read the thread about the newsletter and the giant rock and the connection to "Right In Two"

It's quite good.

I think Blair was trying to give us some meaning behind this epic song (apparently 8:56 in lenght, and described by one lucky listener already as "THE BEST SONG TOOL HAS EVER WRITTEN")

SomethingSpecial
04-06-2006, 07:09 PM
hmmm, maybe. Kinda unclear if it was or wasn't. But this makes me laugh for it reminded me of something posted on the initial newsletter thread where some moron asked if the UFO was photoshopped in.

no. i doubt it has any significance. but i can bet money that over the next few days people will post shit pertaining to certain words dates or numbers in the newsletter that connect ancient civilizations, paranormal literature, or miniscule astronomy or physics facts. bleh.

"10000 people per day." maybe it means something ....... <suspense>

yeah, there were alot of little hints scattered throughout. The mentioning of green jello being where tool kinda started out with danny and maynard, then mentioning fbi agents eating green jello or some shit.

The thing i found ironic is how blair was making fun of the pimply slayer fans defiling the rock, then they write 'tool, 10,000 days'.

Also another point of interest for people to look into, the 'tool 10,000 days' is written in red paint... notice anything else in the same red on the rock?? :D im still trying to figure out what it might mean, if anything.

Blair is really fucked up. He must be drunken all the time when posting news. Its hilarious how often he mentions alcohol in his postings.

ill start by saying you could be right...

but do you know him personally? how do you know that he isnt just a friend of the band who has been given the humorous and menial task of updating their website and posting tiny goodies that will stir the mental juices of the readers/fans? hardly sounds like "living vicariously" to me

seems like all the blair haters are just bitter because theyve been salivating in anticipation for a new tool record and he comes through with a possibly relevant anecdote about a trip to a desert and a giant stone with special significance to western native american tribes instead of "we listenened to track 1. it sounds like music with drums and guitars and here are the lyrics ...."

what is tool always suggesting we do?

think for ourselves? pursue discovery? expand our minds?

call me crazy, but the intention of this newsletter (as well as many others) seems to be a push into discovering for ourselves some of the ideas the band has been exploring over their writing/recording process. what good is our discovering the spiritual relevance of this stone if the band just simply lectures us?

if youre too lazy to research yourself dont go shooting the messenger.

look. blair may be a cool guy. he may be a friend of the band. he may be the worlds biggest nerd. i dont really care. him putting shit up about his alien seeking trip to the desert, or a lengthy acid trip, on the TOOL website just doesnt belong there. If this is some kind of hinting session about track names and song meanings, its gotten to the point where its not even worth reading. i dont think ive ever looked up this much useless crap in a 2 month period before (enochian dictionaries, history of LSD, the giant word search shit, mayan history, blah blah). yeah i know... "hes not forcing you to read it".... thats great... but what reason does he have to put that shit, along with the damn butcher and whatever other band it is infromation on the website?

im just tired of people saying "you dont know blair personally" "dont insult blair, hes a really faithful guy to the band" etc.... k.. awesome... put me in charge of the website and i would be faithful to the band as well. but i wouldnt post this much random useless crap on there, that has vaguely anything to do with tool or any tool news.

and if you disagree with my opinion, peachy. just know that i disagree with yours.

He posts on toolband.com. TOOLband.com. Wouldn't this band just put another guy in charge of their website if they didn't like Blair's enigmatic stories? So if at all, blame Hofmann Tool.

yeah, there were alot of little hints scattered throughout. The mentioning of green jello being where tool kinda started out with danny and maynard, then mentioning fbi agents eating green jello or some shit.

that's actual a famous account of a man in black trying to drink jello at a contactee's house. i don't think that was a hint

I havn't seen this brought up here yet, although admittedly, I don't view these boards everyday.

Anyhow, has it already been brought to people's attention that the graffiti on one of the big rocks in the newest newsletter clearly says "Tool (sucks) 10,000 days is fake"

If this is a repost, I apologize.

Here, it maaaay be a little easier to see like this. There is definately something there. I've tried zooming in and sharpening it, and I can see why people think it says "Tool Sucks 10,000 Days is Fake." But then again, I can see why they are complete idiots.

Anyone else ever think perhaps Blair posts stuff like this because maybe knowing a little background info about it will help us to better understand the album, so that we aren't completely lost? That's usually how I take it. That was a giant newsletter and it mostly focused on one thing. Blair isn't an idiot and he could have posted that after the album if he wanted, but he chose to post it when he knew lots of people would see it, meaning it's probably somehow relevant. We just don't know how yet. Just read it, shut up, and wait. If the album comes out and the newsletter had absolutely nothing to do with it, then you can justifiably hate Blair all you want.

It probbably doesn't say anything, but if you can't see the word "Tool" in that zoom then you are legally blind.

Glad you caught that too. Thought I was the only one.
There's a few other places where it looks like doctoring, but hard to make out what the words say. Also the closeup of the dedication plaque looks like it's been altered, but probably just for effect.

Yeah, all the pictures look odd to me.

Glad someone else noticed too :D

JuhaDeWolf

Look, I'm not saying that it doesn't say "Tool" and I'm not saying it does.
I can however, say that I understand how a person could think that.

Also though, look at where the graffiti is, near the top of the boulder and upside down. I really doubt that a person would go on top of the boulder, dangle upside down and risk their neck just to write huge-ass graffiti. If it does say anything, I'm pretty sure that it was photoshopped in afterwards. And if it was photoshopped, there has to be a reason behind it.

JuhaDeWolf
04-09-2006, 02:12 PM
You can sort of see an 'uck' under the 'ol' and an 'ake' at the end of the scribblies. The rest is probbably just hallucinations brought about by a severe lack of new Tool.

At one point in the newsletter, directly underneath the picture of the guy sitting on the rock with a UFO in the upper left corner, Blair says, "Again I recalled the message of the Clarionite, Aura Rhanes: "The water of your deserts will mostly be tears.""

I googled, "Clarionite, Aura Rhanes", and three results showed up. The first was the TOOL newsletter. The second was interesting to say the least. Check it out. Notice it references the number 10,000 toward the end of the first person's bio.
http://www.kmatthews.net/ufo/explanations/contactees_2.php

the third result was a longer entry concerning some of the people mentioned in the 2nd link result and others, but it was quite lengthy.

Blair mentions a lot in the newsletter, not that it is all important. However, I didn't know what half of the things were that he was talking about, so I googled key words and phrases and found a lot of interesting things.
